Ex-CIA director: Snowden should be 'hanged' for Paris

A former CIA director says leaker Edward Snowden should be convicted of treason and given the death penalty in the wake of the terrorist attack on Paris.

“It’s still a capital crime, and I would give him the death sentence, and I would prefer to see him hanged by the neck until he’s dead, rather than merely electrocuted,” James Woolsey told CNN’s Brooke Baldwin on Thursday.

Woolsey said Snowden, who divulged classified in 2013, is partly responsible for the terrorist attack in France last week that left at least 120 dead and hundreds injured.

“I think the blood of a lot of these French young people is on his hands,” he said.

Of course, the program which Snowden revealed is still operating.

The [fake] reforms passed earlier this year [USA Freedom Act] didn't kick in right away, they gave the NSA until November 29th to comply.

...which means these programs were operating before, and failed to prevent, the Paris attacks.

...as was the native French surveillance program, which by all accounts is even more invasive.

...which confirms all the evidence that these programs have contributed exactly nothing to preventing any terrorist attack.

The U.S. National Security Agency is ready to end later this month collecting Americans' domestic call records in bulk and move to a more targeted system, meeting a legislative deadline imposed earlier this year, according to a government memo seen by Reuters.

The memo, sent on Monday from the NSA to relevant committees in the U.S. Congress, stated that the spy agency "has successfully developed a technical architecture to support the new program" in time for it to become operational as scheduled on Nov. 29
