Reverend Franklin Graham Slams French magazine Charlie Hebdo

This did not get much coverage in US media:

Franklin Graham Slams Charlie Hebdo for Russian Plane Crash Cartoons: 'They Were Wrong In Mocking Islam And They're Wrong Now'

Gerard Biard, Charlie Hebdo's editor-in-chief, said the accusation of blasphemy was 'absurd'

Prominent evangelist Franklin Graham has criticized French satirical magazine Charlie Hebdo after it published cartoons mocking the Egypt air disaster, which saw the deaths of 224 people.

The first drawing showed a passenger's skull, with the caption: "The dangers of Russian low-cost flights". The second showed the plane's debris falling on an Islamist militant, with the legend: "The Russian air force is intensifying its air strikes."

The Kremlin has also denounced the magazine, with Dmitry Peskov, the Russian government spokesman, calling the cartoons "pure blasphemy" that had nothing to do with democracy or freedom of expression.

Russia says bomb brought down jet in Sinai, offers $50 million reward

By Don Melvin and Matthew Chance, CNN
    Tue November 17, 2015

    Story highlights

    • Metrojet Flight 9268 crashed in Sinai, Egypt, on October 31, killing all 224 people aboard
    • A 2-pound bomb brought it down, the head of the Russian Federal Security Service says
    • ISIS' claim of responsibility has yet to be verified; Western governments have questioned security at Egypt's Sharm el-Sheikh airport

(CNN)The Russian passenger jet that crashed over Sinai, Egypt, was brought down by a bomb estimated to contain 1 kilogram (2.2 pounds) of explosives, the head of the Russian Federal Security Service said Tuesday, and the Russian government is offering a $50 million reward for information about those who brought it down.

The government had initially resisted the theory that the plane fell victim to terrorism, perhaps in retaliation for Russia's support of the government of Bashar al-Assad in Syria.

Charlie Hebdo reminds me of those demented cartoonists during the French Revolution: just vulgar, sadistic, garbage.

...and why not, they're the intellectual descendants of the Jacobins.

Franklin Graham Slams Charlie Hebdo for Russian Plane Crash Cartoons: 'They Were Wrong In Mocking Islam And They're Wrong Now'

I am not a religious extremist but think the Charlie Hebdo people are and were a bunch of scumbags. Anyone that said "I am Charlie" were either ignorant to what these scum of the earth were all about or are scumbags themselves.

Graham is right and I shed no tear for them but with that said they did or do not deserve to die for being scumbags.

Curios, if CH had drawn similar caricature mocking victims who lost lives in WTC buildings following 9/11 terror attacks, would you have same sentiment towards these guys?

It might have increased privacy risks considering recent news of Russian/mideastern hackers stealing data from western businesses but you probably could get the info through their parent companies:

The translator switched the images. The "first" drawing is on the right, the "second" one on the left. The "first" one also makes a reference to the Air Cocaine scandal at the bottom - http://www.reuters.com/article/2015/...0SL1P220151103 - "I should have taken Air Cocaine"

Bit off topic but authority acceptance seems to be common authoritarian theme among religious-right of America. Another evangelical and GOP hot favorite Ben Carson counted Ferguson police shooting victim Michael Brown as victim because he did not learn how to relate to authority:

At criminal justice reform event, Ben Carson reiterates: 'All black lives matter'
After his speech, Carson was interviewed on stage by one of the event's organizers. When pressed on what he would do about police brutality in the black community, Carson again raised his own biography. He said that he never had any problems with the police because he had been taught by his mother to be very respectful of authority.

A broken clock is right twice a day. Franklin Graham is right to criticize Charlie Hebdo as crass and vile and he was right to point out that Putin may be actually saving the lives of Christians and other minorities by propping up Assad.

FBI seeks hacker after 1.2 billion logins are stolen
    1 hour ago

The FBI has linked a hacker to the theft of 1.2 billion internet credentials - the largest heist of its kind.
A hacker known as "mr.grey" is named in court documents filed by the bureau last year, according to the Reuters news agency.
The hacker was linked to the stolen logins via a Russian email address.
Previously, "mr.grey" had advertised the credentials to Facebook and Twitter accounts for sale online.
It was the American cyber security firm Hold Security that initially reported the theft of the credentials and an additional 500 million email addresses last year.
The Russian crime ring responsible for stealing the data - dubbed CyberVor - had breached more than 420,000 websites, according to Hold Security.
