Bernie Sanders to Possibly Accept Rand Paul's Debate Challenge

Rand Paul has recently challenged Bernie Sanders to a debate. This is not the first time such a challenge has surfaced. Scores of young Americans, be they Socialist, Capitalist, or undecided, have wanted these two near-opposite candidates to hash it out on a debate floor.

Bernie has made it clear that he is not afraid to stand against the Capitalist class and whichever other opponent he may face in order to stand up for his ideas. Let's make him put his money where his mouth is.

You may be wondering, "Why Bernie would waste his time debating someone as low-polling as Rand Paul?" Bernie Sanders once demanded that former Federal Reserve chairman talk to ordinary Americans about how they feel the country is doing. Clearly engaging directly with the public is something Bernie feels strongly about. A series of town-hall debates would be a perfect opportunity for the Sanders campaign to gather all of Democratic Socialism's strongest opposition- capitalist libertarians and conservatives, at one place and win them over in person, all the while speaking directly to college students and other young voters. What better way is there to educate people on Democratic Socialism?

    Very misleading title.

I'm still on the fence on this one though.

Nice, can't wait. Just waiting now how the media will spin it... "Rand Paul Confiding with the Enemy."

I know.. I jumped out of my seat with excitement until I read the post. I've seen a lot of Sanders supporters say Rand would be their 2nd choice.

Pretty sure it was for the original title that definitely made it seem like he already accepted it, though I dont agree with the neg rep.

The new title is still bad. As far as I can tell, there's no evidence Bernie even knows about the offer.

He knows about the offer from truth in media, which all he said about it was "no comment".

If Bernie Sanders doesn't take the offer then he is a coward!

If Bernie takes the offer he might be ejected from all future official debates. As might Rand.

What would be the rationale for ejecting them from official debates?

This is a waste of $#@!ing time. Bernie is not the enemy. He's wrong about a lot of stuff., but he's not the enemy.

We need to focus all of our energy on taking down Rubio
if modern agriculture continues to follow the path it's on now, it's finished. The food-growing situation may seem to be in good shape today, but that's just an illusion based on the current availability of petroleum fuels. All the wheat, corn, and other crops that are produced on big American farms may be alive and growing, but they're not products of real nature or real agriculture. They're manufactured rather than grown. The earth isn't producing those things.. petroleum is! -Masanobu Fukuoka

I see it as good press and it sort of implies Rand is an outsider presidential candidate and that he is not a fake conservative because he is willing to argue his convictions. Plus the headlines are good, the comment sections are full of people saying that they would vote for Rand.

Can a moderator fix the title of this thread? It is incredibly misleading.

Something like "Petition for Bernie Sanders to debate Rand Paul"

    Thanks.

I think it is an excellent idea. I hope it comes to fruition.
