When I saw this I immediately buried it. Don't make threads exposing the haters...this only gives them more attention and traffic!
Any publicity is good publicity. They are emphasizing Friday's deadline. People who disagree with Wonkette read their crap just the same way that some of us listen to Michael Savage occassionally to be irritated and amused.
Why does anyone care what the idiots at Wonkette think? I visit Democrat Underground a lot because it is the most unintentionally funny site ever and they constantly hate on Paul. They'll even ban you if you support him. I love seeing their hate. If the morons at these sites supported Ron I would be very concerned.

Seriously, just ignore them. That type of cynicism is what we are trying to resolve in the political system. This is why Ron Paul works with and cultivates the Green Party. Does he agree with their platforms across the board? NO! But he wants the ideas of all of us to be free again.
That is why these groups are the gutter of our society. We will have to reclaim them last but for now their vitriol would stain the hearts of all those who touch it just as you've experienced now. No reason to give them more power than they deserve.
Make them earn it as we have!

Half the $#@! they say is just plain stupid. I agree the money could have been spent better than a blimp, but it makes no sense to ridicule the people who are trying to make the blimp project successful if it does happen to fail. The funny thing is, I just pitched in money to the blimp because of the folks at Wonkette. Their little plan may just be backfiring, at least in my case
fear. They know none of the other GOPers have a chance against whatever democrat ends up running.

Yes, DU is a riot; from the other extreme side of the statist coin, so is Free Republic. They actually hate on Ron even more than DU. Back on the lefty side, DailyKos is so far out there they sometimes start circling back and occasionally have stuff that's not too uncomplimentary to Ron.
The disturbing thing is that the "eating your own" syndrome and strident pettiness so common on DU is often seen here. I think it is a very common human thing not necessarily connected with ideology. You see this factionalism on church committees, school boards, clubs...
Wonkette used to be pretty funny at times, there was a lot of very clever sarcasm, but now that they have a hair up their butt about Ron I don't go there anymore, its too distasteful.
