There are no crimes against people.
There are only crimes against the state.
And the state will never, ever choose to hold accountable its agents, because a thing can not commit a crime against itself.

You are looking at 1984 from my porch. They put up a surveillance tower with three cameras facing opposite directions. It has a blue and red strobe light on top.

My first impression after seeing the bobbed wire was that the light was a police light but figured the location was odd and likely the camera over exposed the white street light as red.

Did the police put it in or did the owner of the lot put it in as a deterrent?

No bull$#@!, the surveillance apparatus has an American flag decal on the base. Going to have to get a picture of that one.

And no, I'm going to move. As to whether it was the police or management whose idea it was-- I'd imagine a little bit of both. While it is a rougher neighborhood, I have left my keys in my car and it sat safe all night. My wallet also fell out of my pocket once and was sitting on my front seat with money visible and it was not touched. Not to mention I walk around everywhere and have only had one issue, of sorts. And even then, while most probably would have called the police, it was just a simple misunderstanding that I'll probably forget all about within a couple of months.

ETA: I've heard it's motion activated. They said they tested it. I'm going to have to test it tomorrow but uh, how pleasant.

It's all about taking action and not being lazy. So you do the work, whether it's fitness or whatever. It's about getting up, motivating yourself and just doing it.

okay laughed a bit too much at this response, but totally true. THAT would be the last straw inspiration to motivate a location change. So far no strobe light monitoring here, but we occasionally have dust ups where we get 24/7 physical presence and yet our area is no worse crime wise than many of the higher priced neighborhoods in the area. Low income and the war on drugs inspires them to flex there muscles from time to time. Sorry about the recent turn of events and GL on your move kc.
