DNC endorses $15 minimum wage, perfect opportunity

If this article is accurate, that the DNC or Democrat party as a whole, or at least its leaders, support a $15 minimum wage, then Republicans have just got their ammo handed on a silver plate. Democrats just shot themselves in both feet and made their own scarecrow.

i think they are wrong on this one , 42% of the workers in america make less than $15/hr , 36% of the white workers make less than $15/hr .

if this drives them to the vote the dem's will pick up a lot of new voters . the people making more than $15/hr mostly vote already and the idea of 15/hr min wage will not bring out any new repub voters .

this would be a winner for the dems .

doesn't that mean republicans can theoretically win votes by pledging $20 and fail to deliver? After all, winning is everything, right?

    Democrat : Noun
Democratic : Adjective and sometimes an adverb

English is an ugly enough language as it is, don't debase it further on purpose...

the minimum wagers would be better positioned politically if it was connected to a minimum company size

and they'll have to ban internships too because otherwise a lot of low-level jobs are going to go from paltry pay to no pay at all as they get converted downwards

no, the republicrats always win. The actors do not matter, just the parts that they are given to play.

How much this will payoff for Republicans will depend on what the Dems' eventual presidential nominee supports.

$15 isn't enough with Obamacare limiting workers to only 30 hours a week. You cannot raise a child, own a new car, and pay rent in New York City on $450 a month. Republicans should come out with a regional minimum wage that is $15 in the poorest part of the nation, and based on cost of living. It might be around $45 in NYC. That would really bring out the voters.

Some of those people will vote for a candidate who promises to make their jobs illegal. But a lot of them will see how stupid and self-destructive that would be.

Do you have evidence that anybody has lost work hours due to Obamacare?

And who asked you to live in NYC? Much less work a minimum wage job.

No, Republicans cannot support any type of regulation, and helping people pay the cost of living is fascism. You have no god given or constitutional right to a job or living, government has no business helping you find a job that pays for your "cost of living".

    LOL.

The Federal Reserve Bank of Philadelphia survey of business in its region finds that because of Obamacare:
    • 18.2% of employers say they cut workers versus 3.0 percent who hired more.
    • 18.2% say the proportion of part-time workers is higher versus 1.5% who say it is lower.
    • 13.7% reported more outsourcing to other firms versus 3% with less outsourcing.

The New York Fed found that because of Obamacare:
    • 21% of manufacturers say they are reducing employment, while 3% are increasing their workforce.
    • Among manufacturers, 19.3% say they are increasing the proportion of part-time work, while 3.5% say they are reducing it.

An Atlanta Fed poll earlier this month found that 34% of businesses planned to hire more part-time workers than in the past, mostly because of a rise in the relative costs of their full-time colleagues.
Based on the idea of natural rights, government secures those rights to the individual by strictly negative intervention, making justice costless and easy of access; and beyond that it does not go. The State, on the other hand, both in its genesis and by its primary intention, is purely anti-social. It is not based on the idea of natural rights, but on the idea that the individual has no rights except those that the State may provisionally grant him. It has always made justice costly and difficult of access, and has invariably held itself above justice and common morality whenever it could advantage itself by so doing.

Correct, do not create a one parent home in NYC and attempt to live working at mc donalds.

    Solution 1: Leave NYC
Solution 2: Live at home with parent
Solution 3: Do not raise a child
