President Barack Obama says the fatal on-air shooting of two Virginia TV station employees is heartbreaking. Obama says "it breaks my heart every time" he reads or hears about these kinds of incidents.

"What we know is that the number of people who die from gun-related incidents around this country dwarfs any deaths that happen through terrorism," he said.

So let's spend 60 years instead of 15, spend 10 trillion instead of however many billions fighting gun violence instead of terrorism and then the President in 2075 can sound all profound like you in a speech telling us how cancer deaths and starvation "dwarf" the deaths from domestic gun violence and that we've been focusing on the wrong thing the whole time!

Radical Islamists were also indicted more frequently than non-Muslim extremists and served longer sentences

Since 9/11, white right-wing terrorists have killed almost twice as many Americans in homegrown attacks than radical Islamists have, according to research by the New America Foundation.

In their June study, the foundation decided to examine groups “engaged in violent extremist activity” and found that white extremists were by far the most dangerous. They pointed to the recent Emanuel AME Church shooting in Charleston, S.C., and the 2012 attack on a Sikh temple in Wisconsin, as well as many lesser-known attacks on Jewish institutions and on police. They found that 48 people were killed by white terrorists, while 26 were killed by radical Islamists, since Sept. 11.

The study also found that the criminal justice system judged jihadists more harshly than their non-Muslim counterparts, indicting them more frequently than non-jihadists and handing down longer sentences.

This claim is utterly bunk. The majority of all gun related violence in America directly relates to criminal street gangs and their drug/sex/weapons trades, being fundamentally terroristic in nature--and which is covertly tied to the CIA and similar federal agencies.

Sorry but they want to ban those too. 'No reason why a civilian would need such gear,' so they say.

Basically government wants to leave you with a prayer and telephone if you're ever a victim. And they aren't all too fond of letting you pray, either. But if you could defend yourself then you wouldn't need government and they can't allow that sort of independence. They have budgets to justify.
