Rand attacking Trump was an amateur mistake. He should have ignored trump and attacked only Christie and Bush if anyone, and waited until he was closer to the front of the pack before he targeted Trump. Attacking the people's messiah in the number one spot when you are at the end of the pack never works and just comes off as desperation.

Paul is anti-establishment...Trump is campaigning on that. You cant just let him go unscathed.
There is no doubt, that like many of us, Trump has been a keen observer of US politics in the media, and in particular, Tea Party politics. He has taken full advantage of seeing the trends and the potential. The lesson of Dave Brat was not lost on Trump.
Trump has essentially taken on the anti-establishment agenda, but the variation as advocated by Hannity. More of a new teocon agenda, minus any loyalty to the Constitution at all. Most teocons still talk about about the Constitution, but Trump has removed that from his concerns. Someone Like Trump doesn't want to talk about restraints on power.

Trump got in the race at a time when Rand was the candidate most easily creating headlines via making legitimate news, and getting the free media. From that moment on, Trump has been getting all the headlines, with Rand struggling to make the same headway he did in the spring. This lends credence to the view that at least originally, Trump got in to help the establishment choke off Rand's ability to create "news bombs" that forced the MSM to give him coverage.

Well, if we're good, we can make them regret their overreach. When they say the sitting Senator who doesn't take bribes is Establishment because he's a sitting Senator, while the businessman who pays bribes to anyone who will take them is anti-Establishment because he's not a sitting Senator, even the biggest idiots begin to scratch their heads and wonder what the smell is.
