Lightbulb 99% of Rand-related news stories are negative (new idea to change that, need your thoughts)

So I don't know about you but looking at 99% of news stories, comments, and social media posts is downright frustrating. It seems like specifically on Rand Paul related news, negative comments outnumber the positive 100 to 1. This goes all the way down the line the mainstream TV channels, big-time newspaper headlines, internet threads and comments - they all are inexplicably (to me) against Rand.

At first, I felt like this might just be a reflection of today's current state of affairs but then I thought about something.

With the amount of brainwashing the MSM does, this isn't really a fair fight. People aren't thinking for themselves. Couple that with the fact that by definition fake accounts are more prevalent then we know (http://www.theguardian.com/technolog...ocial-networks)... the government and the extremely wealthy *cough* trump *cough* having the ability to create fake accounts that simply stalk any news story and talk over everyone in order to sway perceived public opinion. This is probably RAMPANT.

It's sad how the sheeple follow public opinion like this BUT it does make sense. It even happens to us. After all, no matter what, if you hear something being said 100 times you start to believe it. It's human nature... not our fault.

But what can YOU do? You have a full time job (or whatever), you don't have time to be commenting on every single Rand Paul story on the internet (although you wish you could).

Imagine a world where Rand Paul got a fair shake. For every reddit post with a heavily-skewed negative title that made $#@! up - there was one that was fair and *accurate*. Every comment calling Rand Paul crazy was down voted and met with a few more discussing the actual issue instead of name calling. If every time there was a news story about Rand Paul - the story was positive and attracted voters.

What would the results of this be? What would going from almost exclusively bad coverage to even fair coverage mean to the campaign? I think it would be huge. I think it would have the capability of completing changing the paradigm. I think it would keep the media accountable by letting them know we're going to tell the truth in their stories consistently.

We no longer would be victims of the MSM swaying the nation. Instead we would be the news ourselves. One comment or upvote or share at a time.

The problem is, this takes organization. Obviously we don't outnumber the millions of people who are brainwashed. We don't outnumber thousands of corrupt people who are in some way getting compensated for their time in one way or another (think Murdoch all the way down to Hannity).

However, we do actually care about these issues and have real knowledge about them - knowledge that when we share, can spread (as Ron Paul's message has proved). We're not like the people on reddit, following Bernie Sanders blindly because he's promising the moon, we have a degree of education based on facts and history... not socialist hullabaloo

That's why I want to start a new website. It will be a daily email newsletter that you receive which will tell you what the latest Rand Paul stories are for that day and where to comment. In fact, it will give you direct links to the comments, show you how the story is false so you have ammo.

It will tackle the biggest stories of the day so that all of our collective efforts go to the stories with the biggest payoff. It will save you hours of searching and doing this for yourself daily. Collectively it will save hundreds or thousands (depending on how many people volunteer) of hours for everyone combined per day. Time we can use to actually cause a change in peoples minds or at the very least make sure there is a chance of it.

It would be a daily digest that made it extremely simple to help give Rand the push he deserves.

If you're interested, i want to hear from you. It'll take some initial investment on my part and I just want to make sure this idea will get results but it depends on if i can get enough people on the list. I honestly wonder what Ron Paul's campaign would've looked like if it had gotten a fair shot.

Post below! (or pm me your email)

My two cents - it needs to be real-time, not a daily newsletter. The very first comments on a news story as soon as it is published are the most important, and once the story is a day old it has already passed its peak viewing. Particularly with sites like Politico, I've found if I get the first comment then even if it's not particularly insightful, it gets voted real high. So yeah if there was like a real time notification system about brand new stories being published, having those first 6 hours dominated more heavily with pro Rand comments would help.

I think that's a great point. I brought up email because it's so direct that I think it would spark renewed engagement everyday, but I agree with your point too. I'm friends with the guy who built http://www.telescopeapp.org so maybe using something like this would be the best of both worlds.

The Pro-Israeli, endless war lobby, have their paid shills instantly get on those threads and create a mood about Rand. It's fairly obvious, and yes -- somewhat discouraging.

Whenever I post on Rand Stories, I just basically re-iterate his positions in a concise, short manner while calling into question how the GOP has been taken over by endless war neo-cons etc... you get my drift. This way, when someone downvotes my posts - it is pretty obvious they are downvoting "peace, prosperity, liberty etc..". Others will see that and think "hmmmm, that is odd... and start seeing the farm for what it is..".

Right on! So if you had a list of the day's most popular news stories and links to the comment section would it make this process easier for you?

Couldn't someone use the newsfeed feature in Microsoft exchange? If they select the politics section from all these top political sites they could then get an instant notification. Then once that's accomplished have an email group setup specifically for this purpose to go out to these sites/articles and immediately start posting positive comments. That would be my approach on how to deal with the online comment section that obviously already have their paid shills to do the establishment's dirty work for them.
