POLL: GOP Presidential Primary (all polls)

This tread is where I'll be posting all presidential GOP primary polls. If there is a thread already going for this, just let me know and I'll start using the existing thread.

Polls are more highly manipulated that fiat currency and precious metals markets, but what other gauge of preference is there other than polling persons known to you?

Poll: GOP top tier breaking away, led by Donald Trump
By Jennifer Agiesta, CNN Polling Director
    CNN
    Thu July 30, 2015

Washington (CNN)A new poll from Quinnipiac University finds Donald Trump with a significant lead over his closest rivals for the Republican nomination for president, and provides further evidence the field of 16 candidates vying for the GOP nomination has a clear top tier.

Trump tops the field at 20% in the poll, Quinnipiac's first since the businessman announced his run for the presidency in June. He is followed not by former Florida Gov. Jeb Bush, but by Wisconsin Gov. Scott Walker at 13%. Bush follows Walker at 10%. This trio comprises the only Republican candidates in double-digits in each of the last four publicly released national polls.

It will be interesting to see how these are played.

Fox News Poll: New high for Trump, new low for Clinton
    By Dana Blanton
    FoxNews.com
    Published August 03, 2015

Businessman Donald Trump continues to gain ground in the race for the Republican nomination. What’s more, the number of GOP primary voters saying they would at least consider backing Trump has more than doubled in the last two months.

... Trump receives the backing of 26 percent of self-identified Republican primary voters -- up from 18 percent in mid-July and 11 percent a month ago. That’s not only the highest level of support for Trump, but it’s also the highest any GOP candidate has received since the Fox poll began asking the question in December 2013.

Trump’s rise hasn’t hurt former Florida Gov. Jeb Bush, who garners 15 percent and is the only other Republican in double-digits. He was at 14 percent in mid-July and 15 percent in June.

... Behind Trump and Bush, it’s Wisconsin Gov. Scott Walker at 9 percent, retired neurosurgeon Ben Carson at 7 percent, Texas Sen. Ted Cruz and former Arkansas Gov. Mike Huckabee at 6 percent each, Florida Sen. Marco Rubio and Kentucky Sen. Rand Paul at 5 percent a piece, and New Jersey Gov. Chris Christie and Ohio Gov. John Kasich get 3 percent each.
Will be interesting to see the polls tomorrow after tonight's GOP candidate forum in New Hampshire.

CBS News poll: Donald Trump leads GOP field in 2016 presidential race
    CBS News
    August 4, 2015

Donald Trump (24 percent) leads a fractured Republican field in the race for the GOP nomination in the latest national CBS News Poll. Behind him are Jeb Bush (13 percent) and Scott Walker (10 percent).

Trump leads among a wide array of Republican primary voters. He appears to have tapped into public anger toward Washington: he holds a large lead among Republican primary voters who say they are angry. And 79 percent think Trump says what he believes, rather than what people want to hear, far higher than the other candidates tested.

... Trump appeals to many factions of Republican primary voters. He leads among conservatives, Tea Party supporters, evangelicals and both men and women. Among Republican primary voters who do not consider themselves Tea Partiers, the race is closer. Bush (21 percent) performs better among this group, edging out Trump (19 percent).

... Also, Trump leads among Republican primary voters on both sides of the illegal immigration debate - those who support legal status for illegal immigrants in the U.S and those who think those immigrants should be required to leave the country.

Trump and Bush are also seen as the most electable in a general election. At this early stage of the campaign, 26 percent say Trump has the best chance of winning in November 2016, and 23 percent pick Bush as having the best chance. Walker comes in third here, with eight percent.
Still early in the election but late in the game. Time will tell.

    Donald Trump 47% (49040 Votes)

    Marco Rubio 11% (11434 Votes)
    John Kasich 9% (9690 Votes)
    Rand Paul 5% (5345 Votes)
    Ted Cruz 5% (5512 Votes)

    Chris Christie 3% (2633 Votes)
    Mike Huckabee 3% (2915 Votes)

Interesting results from a TIME poll asking who won the August 6, 2015 FOX GOP Primary debate. Bush is not looking good. Media today was asking if he really wanted to be POTUS.

New NBC News/Survey Monkey Poll: Donald Trump Still in the Lead After Debates
by Shawna Thomas and John Lapinski
    NBC News
    August 9, 2015

If Donald Trump's comments about Fox News Anchor Megyn Kelly are hurting his standing in the Republican primary, it's not showing in the numbers.

According to the latest NBC News Online Poll conducted by SurveyMonkey, Trump is at the top of the list of GOP candidates that Republican primary voters would cast a ballot for if the primary were being held right now.

The overnight poll was conducted for 24 hours from Friday evening into Saturday. During that period, Donald Trump stayed in the headlines due to his negative comments about Kelly and was dis-invited from a major conservative gathering in Atlanta.

None of that stopped Trump from coming in at the top of the poll with 23 percent. Sen. Ted Cruz was next on the list with 13 percent.

... During the Fox News debate Thursday evening, Trump was the only Republican candidate to say he would not rule out a run as an independent candidate. According to this poll, that's just fine with over half of his supporters. 54% of Trump supporters said they would vote for him for president, even if he didn't win the GOP nomination. About one in five Trump supporters said they would switch and support the eventual Republican candidate.

    People are fed up.

The other 9 candidates are all clustered between 3% and having no support at all (George Pataki)- John Kasich and Rand Paul are at 3%, Bobby Jindal, Rick Perry, and Rick Santorum at 2%, Chris Christie at 1%, and Jim Gilmore, Lindsey Graham, and Pataki all have less than 1%.

Despite Trump's outsider appeal, he fares no better against Democratic front-runner Hillary Clinton than other Republican candidates. In a head-to-head match-up, Clinton would beat Trump by 43 percent to 29 percent, the poll found. Clinton would beat other Republican candidates such as Bush, Florida Senator Marco Rubio and Texas Senator Ted Cruz by similar margins.

The debate did little to change Republican voters' opinions of Trump, the poll found. One-third said they liked him more after the debate, one-third said they liked him less, and the remaining third said their opinions had not changed.

Other candidates fared better. Voters were more likely to say the debate had improved their opinions of Rubio, Cruz, former technology executive Carly Fiorina, retired neurosurgeon Ben Carson, Wisconsin Governor Scott Walker and former Arkansas Governor Mike Huckabee.

Only Kentucky Senator Rand Paul appears to have been hurt, as 8 percent said their opinion of him improved while 22 percent said they felt more negative.

A significant portion of the GOP base is very upset.

One reason most are grouped together is that essentially they all sound the same, act the same, represent the same ole' same ole' that has become a burr under the saddle of a significant portion of the GOP grassroots and American electorate.

Sure, as the globalists drop out, their voters might go to the remaining globalists instead of Trump, but maybe not. It's too early to tell. One thing is certain. As polls indicate now, if Trump goes 3rd Party, the GOP party loses all those juicy government jobs.

The constitution and Bill of Rights are not that popular anymore. We are on very thin ice. America, as we knew it, will not survive the loss of our constitution and BoR.

What is interesting is that restoring secure borders and the US domestic industrial base along with jettisoning Political Correctness IS popular. Jump on to this train (which is the movement - not necessarily the person) and make sure your constitution is packed in your carry-on.

CNN/ORC Poll: Donald Trump now competitive in general election
By Jennifer Agiesta, CNN Polling Director
    CNN
    Wed August 19, 2015

Washington (CNN) Since announcing his campaign in late June, Donald Trump has quickly leapt to the top of the Republican field, leading recent polls nationally, in Iowa and in New Hampshire. And now, for the first time in CNN/ORC polling, his gains among the Republican Party have boosted him enough to be competitive in the general election.

The poll finds Democratic front-runner Hillary Clinton ahead of Trump by just 6 points, a dramatic tightening since July.
My on the street polling of people I meet during a normal day indicates to me that Trump's appeal is high among women and diverse ethnic groups and crosses partisan lines. He has a broad appeal that is growing -- not ebbing. This is a reality that Rand's strategy team will need to factor into their thinking.

He's now at 24% to 14% for Ben Carson, 13% for Jeb Bush, 10% for Ted Cruz, 9% for Marco Rubio, and 6% each for Carly Fiorina, Mike Huckabee, and Scott Walker. Those folks make for a pretty clean top 8 in the state. Rounding out the field are Rand Paul at 3%, Chris Christie and Rick Santorum at 2%, John Kasich and Rick Perry at 1%, Jim Gilmore, Bobby Jindal, and George Pataki with less than 1%, and Lindsey Graham with literally no supporters.

Trump's 8 point gain gives him the biggest momentum in the state over the last month. The other two candidates with upward momentum are Carson and Cruz. Carson's gone from 9% to 14% as people's first choice. Beyond that he's 21% of voters' second choice, making him the clear leader on that front. And his 66/11 favorability rating makes him the most popular of the GOP hopefuls in the state. Cruz has gone from 6% a month ago to his 10% standing now.

Voters Want to Build A Wall, Deport Felon Illegal Immigrants
    rasmussenreports.com
    Wednesday, August 19, 2015

As far as voters are concerned – and not just Republicans - Donald Trump has a winning formula for fighting illegal immigration.

The latest Rasmussen Reports national telephone survey finds that 70% of Likely Republican Voters agree with the GOP presidential hopeful that the United States should build a wall along the Mexican border to help stop illegal immigration. Seventeen percent (17%) of GOP voters disagree, while 13% are undecided. (To see survey question wording, click here.)

Ninety-two percent (92%) of Republicans agree that the United States should deport all illegal immigrants who have been convicted of a felony in this country. Only four percent (4%) disagree.

Among all likely voters, 51% favor building a wall on the border; 37% disagree, and 12% are not sure. Eighty percent (80%) support the deportation of all illegal immigrants convicted of a felony; only 11% are opposed.
