Record temps today in Seattle area this week

i may go off the freak end today. NOT used to high heat for more than a few days. No air except fans and open windows. Forgive in advance for stupid $#@! postings.

over 90 for the rest of the week....almost noon, and its already 80 plus...

i know some of you are high heat fans....but here in the PNW, this week may see some heat related deaths around here...

It's Global Warming! Lets tax us even more!

Well, wasn't every winter storm proof that global warming was fake? A hot summer must therefore be proof it is real!
(neither by themselves are proof either way).

Does seem to be a warm day.

    I like warm.
Liberty is lost through complacency and a subservient mindset. When we accept or even welcome automobile checkpoints, random searches, mandatory identification cards, and paramilitary police in our streets, we have lost a vital part of our American heritage. America was born of protest, revolution, and mistrust of government. Subservient societies neither maintain nor deserve freedom for long.

People forget about their animals too. The Vet told me to not let them run around playing in the yard when it is over 75 degrees. Some breeds like pugs, pits, boxers, bulldogs, boston terriers are brachycephalic. Because of their short noses and smaller air passages, brachycephalics can’t adequately cool air or release heat when they are in hot temperatures. I'm in North Carolina and it's been in the high 90's for weeks. I let the boxers out for 15 minutes, maximum.

Not that I'm not worried about you having no air conditioning, but I'm just giving word of warning about the pets since you are not used to this kind of weather.

I live north of Seattle and I showed that video to my wife and a few days later she had bought a cooler on craig's list. I made it so we actually have one of those in our bedroom.

The "cooler" cooler won't cool down your house if the ice cubes used are made using your freezer inside your house, but if you go out and buy bags of ice cubes I don't see why it wouldn't work. Or if you are just cooling one room at night.

I don't know how economical that is over time, but if you only have to use it for a week or two a year it's probably a better deal.

When we lost power during Hurricane Ike for days, our bagged ice didn't last long in the cooler.

Heat index in the 100's here. The heat doesn't bother me, I hate being cold. Put on a wife beater shirt and a pair of boxers, sit in front of a fan with your legs spread (keeps the naughty bits cool) and drink a cold beer.

And ffs, mop up your ass crack with a towel.
