just wow - they are really trying to hammer Rand before August debate

In the last day, I've seen two negative stories on Rand's campaign on front page of Yahoo.....

They are really trying to make people believe it is a sinking ship, so they jump --- thus reducing Rand's polling and say "ooops, you didn't make the top 10 cut".

    This is sickening.....

It is soooooooooo apparent what they are doing.

If you can't attack him on the issues, attack him on electability.

Nature of the beast for a political outsider. We've seen it before. On a positive note the local paper has an political election page and today it featured Rand and did a great job even though they called him "quirky." I guess "quirky" is the new "quixotic".

If people inside the campaign are talking to the press, the press is gonna print it.

The ship has already sunk. Its obvious Rand is a bottom tier candidate by his fundraising numbers.

Incorrect, fundraising numbers come primarily from the establishment which has an unequal footing in the electoral process.

The debates haven't started yet - Ron Paul didn't get traction until almost 5 months after the first GOP debate in 2007.

Nope, he is still on the top half of all candidates in fundraising.

Bottom tier would be Santorum, Fiorina, Jindal. If you think the ship has already sunk, are you going to jump?

No Dannno, its actually easier to just give up before the debates even begin.

Well, his poll numbers and favorability ratings are steadily dropping, so he may not make the cutoff. I see the media already planting the stories.

And they're even convincing people on this forum to give up. Weak minds are easily manipulated.

Weak campaign getting gored by the media at a low ebb? Not exactly shocking news.

Should make a list of all of the weak ones dumping on the campaign during the bad times and exposing them when they're cheerleading during the good times.

Rand is making cut. Leaving Rand out would probably give more attention at this point than they want... The measurements that they are using to say "Rand's campaign is failing" are not correct. National polls are irrelevant, Rand doesn't need the same amount of money that others need due to the inheritance of a solid ground game, etc." They never bring up that if Rand keeps the 20 percent in IA or NH then he probably wins those states. They are scared. Do you see these articles about Cruz, Huck, Carson, etc? No because aren't the threat. Why in the hell would you take these articles for face value?

If Rand isn't going to make the cut, who exactly would be ahead of him in 8th-10th place?

Letting him enter at the bottom of the pack will be as effective. 8th or 10th, who cares about the bottom of the barrel candidates. He has been marginalized already - http://www.ronpaulforums.com/showthr...=1#post5922313

It would be 3 of the following 7:
Christie, Kasich, Perry, Santorum, Jindal, Fiorina, Graham

He'll make the cut. That is the least of our problems.

When you find yourself wanting to give up, just remember that that is exactly what they want you to do when they post this kind of stuff, so they can continue their little game where nothing ever changes. Don't give them the satisfaction. Let's continue to be a pain in their ass until the $#@!ing end!

The fact that they are doing this, this early, really shows what they actually think: that he can win it all! Otherwise they wouldn't be doing this right now. I read a quote somewhere that said most people quit just before they are about to finally succeed. Don't do that.

Seriously who buys this garbage? People haven't even begun talking about policy yet. It reminds me of Fox's constant need to give viewers a "friendly reminder" that Ron had no shot.. If that was the case their would be no need to say it. We are going to win IA and NH. Phone from home is coming back within the next day or so. Let's get it done and win this thing.

Do not fool yourself. There is no fire in the belly in our candidate. Maybe next time. He has an all important trip to Haiti coming up soon.

  26. #23
Well, at least they're mentioning his name. Which could be good. If they want to set the bar high, let them.

I think Rand Paul knows he's about to get, like, seven minutes total to speak in the debate. Let's hope that every second they turn his microphone on, he makes them regret it.

    I daresay you're right.

So, just out of curiosity, who is your candidate?

Doesn't matter if he gets in the debates if they only give him 30 seconds like they did to his dad.

But in the big picture, Rand simply isn't attracting any attention, and he's on the wrong end of a massive anti-immigration wave sweeping the GOP. You don't attract attention by being wishy-washy and unfortunately Rand has been very wishy-washy on a lot of high-profile issues.

He needs to stake out a hardcore position on something controversial, if you ask me. Chainsawing the tax code is something any candidate in the field might do. What else he got?

Maybe Christie will rile him up.

No maybe Rand's "fire" has gone to things that actually matter. Just like the forced vote on Planned Parenthood today. Just like fighting against the NSA. Yesterday Rand called out Graham, Cruz, and Rubio BY NAME in SC for voting for a spending increase in defense without cutting in other areas like he did. Rand will be hitting people soon. Don't copy trump's fake bull crap because he got a boost in the polls. Maybe this time timosman...

    He'll get more than that.

People think Trump can filibuster, but Rand has done it on the Senate floor.

I will quote you on caucus night, when Rand is victorious. We will see.

By then we might know who their candidate is. We'll have to keep track of everyone who goes to Haiti.
