Thread: RPF grassroots demographics age poll 7/19/15 - please answer, not public

RPF grassroots demographics age poll 7/19/15 - please answer, not public

So I've been on this site over 8 years. When I joined I was 28. I was actually OLDER than most of the people in the movement at that time. At least that was the case at the two functions I went to. But today something weird occurred to me. Started when one member thought I was older than I was. And I was also on a "song" thread and I noticed a lot of songs were older than even me. Then there was a thread reminiscing about the 90's and people were older than me on that thread as well.

So I'm wondering now if all the young people have simply left this movement for the most part. Because I should be on the higher end of the age demographic not the lower end.

So I've posted this poll to get a feel for current age demographics at RPF. It's not public so please answer.

I'm going to search for the old demographic poll. I know we used to have some from the original 2008 movement.

I'll edit this OP when I find it. If anyone else finds it just post it and I'll edit this OP.

    Thanks.

    EDIT: 12/10/15

I found an old poll from 2007.

DEFINITELY the original makeup of the R3volution was younger. Over 60% under 30, with the largest group 18-24.

    http://www.ronpaulforums.com/showthr...ht=demographic

    17 and under 20 6.33%
    18-24 #114 36.08%
    25-30 #72 22.78%
    31-35 #32 10.13%
    36-40 #25 7.91%
    41-45 #20 6.33%
    46-50 #16 5.06%
    51-55 #8 2.53%
    56-65 #7 2.22%
    66 and over #2 0.63%

Well, I think Ron had a very strong "buck the system" vibe going on maybe is why. He was the alpha underdog. Rand has a similar issue base but he doesn't have an underdog vibe except to people who understand the philosophy.

There will be no grassroots, not anything of significant like that of his father's anyway. Rand has pandered to pretty much to everyone, as a result no one believes anything he says at this point. Bernie is getting the grassroots now.

I don't want to talk about it. I dislike aging. NOT HAPPY ABOUT IT.

That being said....there are a bunch of old hippie socialists following Sanders too. I'm absolutely amazed people my age can be so ignorant about economics and think that they will somehow thrive if only capitalism can be done away with.

I don't think AF's that old. I think it's Ronin Truth. He said he's got a step son older than the wizard in another thread.

There's a dude with a scooter avatar who claims to be around 80.

From what I've read in his posts he could very well be.

Ok, I'm 63, I work out daily, go to karate twice a week, had prostate surgery two years back (can still get it up with "help" but sometimes those 4 hour ones can get painful) own an airplane and a special "Ron Paul Corvette" and I hate ALL forms of "government"... Anything else we need to put on the table?

Looks like the Average age of posters here has increased quite a bit since 2007 . More than 8 years.

And another one a little younger than Wiz, and a daughter just about to turn 29.

BTW, he's still older than Wizard in this thread too.

Ya, the whole idea was to be "over the top"... But hell, I figure the goonerment knows all this anyway so we might as well just wear it on our sleeves, right? Maybe the only way to "get the upper hand" is to embrace all our quirkiness and accept everyone else's...

    I'd say. 28 and under is < 10% right now. That's atrocious.

That was the whole thing that weirded me out. All the time-pass social things we were doing I was just noticing that I was overly familiar with them all and the ones I wasn't seemed to all be older than me.

So I was like, shouldn't there be some new stuff coming on the other side? I figured I was right in the middle and I'm apparently in the bottom 30% it looks like.
