Univ. of Colorado to co-host GOP debate with CNBC

UColorado Buffaloes student newspaper headline this morning reports that the GOP
"Herd headed to Boulder", as the campus will co-host the Wednesday, October 28, 2015
"economy-themed" GOP Presidential Debate with CNBC cable news channel at the Coors Event Center on campus.










We should own this event . . .
after all, our liberty-minded grassroots didn't have the expected summer events
at any Iowa State/ Ames GOP straw poll as we did for Ron Paul in 2007 and 2011 (RonFest etc.)

Hope you can make it - we will be organizing some Rand events fer' sure.
Hotel rooms are extremely limited, some camping in the foothills and toward the ski resort
up in the mountains, but plenty of easy public transportation from Denver.

fyi . . .
out-of-state residents over 21 can drop in any dispensary without hassle for up to a quarter oz. ,
but I'll strongly advise you obey some simple local ordinances - especially near any
Federal facilities along the way - to assure having a great time.

Colorado Daily student newspaper online edition takes a bit longer to come out -
seems the online edition may be a day behind, especially during summer break.

Student journalists/volunteers are out at 6am every morning filling up the free newspaper stands
for commuters heading to jobs in Denver and in town outside supermarkets/health food stores/post office,
but it should hit online soon enough at : http://www.coloradodaily.com/

fyi - Colorado Daily has an editorial every Friday, titled "Peace Train"
which is sponsored by the Rocky Mountain Peace and Justice Center, which is very good.

Peace Train this morning is an "Open Letter to Senator Gardner" encouraging a
Yea vote on the Iran deal, with the by-line by "Tom Mayer, For the Colorado Daily"

Multi-agency law enforcement training on campus of the University of Colorado for Wednesday July 29 . . .

Please none of those M-80s left over from your July 4th fireworks that were smuggled in from
the neighboring neocon state of Nebraska.

Cameras, cellphones, or tablet computers caught taking photos may be confiscated - in all likelihood, if you are caught.
Media will have screened photos probably anyway.

Of course certain buildings WILL be evacuated, including library closures in those certain buildings during hours they would have been opened,
as operations are on campus 12noon - 9pm

Friday edition of Boulder, CO local paper reporting logistics preparations after team



returns from the Cleveland Fox News debate.

University of Colorado officials are working to finalize details ahead of the Republican presidential debate to be held on the Boulder campus in October.

. . . a "significant media footprint" for the days leading up to and following the debate, CU police Chief Melissa Zak
said at a recent meeting with Boulder officials. "We're expecting that 30 to 40 media trucks will be here during the week of the debate,".

In addition, CU officials say they're gearing up for some 300 journalists from all over the country and the world to descend on the campus to cover the debate.

It's also likely that some television media outlets will set up somewhere on campus or within the city to host commentary sessions
before and after the Oct. 28 debate, officials said.

. . . The University of Colorado is also preparing for protesters, who may use the debate to hold demonstrations
possibly against the more controversial of the candidates on the GOP stage . . .

Officials said they will respect demonstrators' First Amendment rights and expect them to be peaceful . . .
