The Feds are Murdering Alternative Doctors—Debunked!
A far-fetched conspiracy theory says a lot about alternative medicine advocates and their tenuous relationship with reality.

The Alternative Medicine Racket: How the Feds Fund Quacks
The NIH has spent $5.5 billion on bringing quackery—from faith healing to homeopathy—right into the heart of the American medical establishment.

I thought libertarians were interested in rational thinking, critical thinking, logic, and evidence...what the hell happened?

Oh yeah. This sub-forum is a complete embarrassment. Post anything that even remotely resembles evidence medicine and you'll get neg repped. But post something that's either calling for federal government intervention and/or has been posted 20 times before (and debunked just as often) and you can rack up points towards that "Spreading Liberty!" message.

Because spreading liberty is all about the conspiracy.

I don't THINK they are, it's a fact they have been for years. Try going to the link before denying reality. Your delusions are amazing in the face of evidence. Anyone with a search engine can see for themselves the NIH funds alterna-quackery.

Now you see why I don't come here much anymore. The site started turning into sophists over Rand, then got whittled down to Alex Jonestown, anti-evidence people. When their sophism fails, this "I'm an undercover libertarian" crap (even IF it's true) fails, and they figure out Steve Jobs had a curable form of cancer but instead chose alterna-quack medicine that killed him by allowing the cancer to worsen and spread, maybe they'll wake up.

But I won't hold my breath.

Ya not surprised, their goal being to discredit it of course.

Rational thinking means reading Reason? Try reading a little more - you need some edumacation.

please keep it civil and substantive
The ultimate minority is the individual. Protect the individual from Democracy and you will protect all groups of individuals
Rightful liberty is unobstructed action according to our will within limits drawn around us by the equal rights of others. I do not add 'within the limits of the law' because law is often but the tyrant's will, and always so when it violates the rights of the individual. - Thomas Jefferson
I must not fear. Fear is the mind-killer. Fear is the little-death that brings total obliteration. I will face my fear. I will permit it to pass over me and through me. And when it has gone past I will turn the inner eye to see its path. Where the fear has gone there will be nothing. Only I will remain.

Ad hominem. Do you have counter-evidence from scientific study, or just personal attacks?

You do realize, of course, that claiming it is a conspiracy to discredit is not equivalent to scientific evidence to the contrary, right? Without that counter evidence, all you have is conspiracy theory.
