    1 million

it appears Rand's end of quarter moneybomb hit $1mil. It's nice to see his moneybombs are gaining some momentum and that donors are stepping up

So he's on par with the likes of Rubio and Cruz, then.

Sen. Marco Rubio raised $1.25 million online during his first full day as a White House candidate.

A source close to Rubio’s campaign said Wednesday that the amount is the entire sum the Florida Republican had hoped to raise before July 1. The source spoke on the condition of anonymity to discuss the campaign’s inner workings.

Rubio’s haul is on par with other presidential hopefuls. Sen. Ted Cruz of Texas and Sen. Rand Paul of Kentucky each raised $1 million online in their first 24 hours.

Only if you consider getting x amount of money from fat corporations the same thing as getting x amount of money from We, the People.

Somehow, I expect Rubio likely to have fewer albiet larger donations; Cruz and Paul with a more diversified portfolio of financial support.

So while Rubio is banking with big boys; Cruz and Paul are attracting small budget voters with a donation dog in the fight.

    In April:
Of the total raised in the eight days after Mr. Cruz’s announcement, 95% were contributions of $100 or less, Mr. Tyler said. The average donation was about $83.

    In May:

The average donation recorded by the RandPaul.com site hovered around $60

Compared to news on Rubio in April:

The Rubio campaign has had consistent problems with excessive contributions.

    []

donations from the ultra-wealthy could be crucial for the Rubio campaign’s longevity

    []

The Rubio campaign is not prepared to tip its hand about where it will seek out donors. Asked if they planned to rely on big-dollar donors, as opposed to grassroots activists, spokesman Conant replied, “We do not discuss fundraising strategy.”

In that regard Bernie is actually kicking ass; he just pulled in 1.5m of small donations:

The donations came from a broad base of supporters — some 35,000 donors who gave an average of $43.54 a piece, according to the Sanders campaign.

'We endorse the idea of voluntarism; self-responsibility: Family, friends, and churches to solve problems, rather than saying that some monolithic government is going to make you take care of yourself and be a better person. It's a preposterous notion: It never worked, it never will. The government can't make you a better person; it can't make you follow good habits.' - Ron Paul 1988
