“Rand Paul will be a clear favorite for reelection if the Senate ends up being what he runs for next year,” said Dean Debnam, President of Public Policy Polling. “Even though Steve Beshear is the most popular politician in the state, that doesn’t translate to a Democrat winning a federal election in Kentucky.”

Registered voters skew Democrat. That's at least 5 to 7 more points against Rand than it would be likely with likely voters. He's probably the most popular Republican in a competitive state. Thumping Beshear at this point like that is surprising.
"The president does not have power under the Constitution to unilaterally authorize a military attack...that does not involve stopping an actual or imminent threat to the nation." "Attack Libya UPDATE 8/13: and Syria"

"We can track down terrorists without trampling on our civil liberties.... the federal government will only issue warrants and execute searches because it needs to, not because it can." "Need to murder UPDATE 8/13: and track citizens" ~ Barack H. Obama

No one in Kentucky politics right now would get within 15 points of Rand in a Senate race.
