Santa Ana officers caught on camera eating edibles, joking about kicking amputee in 'nub'

Santa Ana police officers were caught on surveillance video joking about kicking a wheelchair-bound amputee in her 'nub' during a marijuana dispensary raid. The woman's lawyer says hidden cameras also caught officers eating a marijuana edible.

wow I LOL'd at how they thought they had removed the entire surveillance system and suddenly started chowing down. DERP. Let that be a lesson, if you have a video surveillance system, always have a secret hidden backup.

Suspended Cops Say Video of Them Eating Marijuana Edibles During a Raid Violated Their Privacy
Santa Ana officers want to stop their department from using the footage to investigate them.

    Jacob Sullum|Aug. 4, 2015 6:00 am

Remember the Santa Ana, California, cops who were caught on video munching on what seem to be cannabis-infused chocolate bars after raiding an unlicensed medical marijuana dispensary in May? The Orange County Register reports that three officers who were suspended after the incident are trying to stop the Santa Ana Police Department from using the footage in its internal investigation. Among other things, their lawsuit argues that the officers thought they had disabled all of the security cameras at Sky High Holistic and therefore had a reasonable expectation of privacy. The cops complain that the dispensary never got their permission to record them as they searched the premises.

Cops Say Video Showing them Steal Marijuana and Joke About Beating Disabled Woman, Is “Illegal”

    http://thefreethoughtproject.com/cop...fyF4zFYAU4w.99

By Matt Agorist on August 4, 2015

Santa Ana, CA — In June, police raided a marijuana dispensary and were caught on a surveillance camera stealing the merchandise and playing darts.

Police entered the “Sky High” dispensary in riot gear with guns drawn and were extremely disrespectful to the owners of the property.

One of the occupants was handicapped and blind, and the officers were making jokes about her disability, and suggesting to one another that they should have assaulted her.

“Did you punch that one-legged old Benita,” a male officer asks a female officer.

“I was about to kick her in her f—ing nub,” the female officer replies after the police were in the building alone.

The cameras captured the officers making profane jokes to one another while they played darts and tested out the merchandise in the store.

In one part of the video, an officer can be seen taking a big bite out of what appears to be a marijuana edible, before he shakes his head in satisfaction and gives the other officers a “thumbs up.”

After this video was released, it went super viral and exposed these abusive and corrupt officers for the criminals they are. Following the video’s release, the Santa Ana police department launched an internal investigation. Not that much was expected to result from the officers investigating themselves, however, in light of a recent and asinine lawsuit by the officers in the video, it’s possible that nothing will happen to them.

    According to the OC Register,

A lawsuit, filed last week in Orange County Superior Court by three unidentified police officers and the Santa Ana Police Officers Association, seeks to prevent Santa Ana Police Department internal affairs investigators from using the video as they sort out what happened during the May 26 raid of Sky High Collective.

Lawyers for police and the dispensary said the video – which has been widely seen on television and several online news sites, including ocregister.com – could play a key role in the ongoing investigation into the officers’ actions.

There is nothing illegal about setting up surveillance cameras in your own place of business on your own property. These officers are merely throwing a temper tantrum after being caught red-handed.

“It’s pretty pathetic for police to say if we don’t like something that it can’t be used as evidence,” Matthew Pappas, a lawyer for Sky High, pointed out.

In the video released by the dispensary, cops, in an effort to conceal their acts were seen dismantling all the cameras they could see prior stealing property and insulting disabled people. Their lawyer is now claiming that because the officers failed to destroy the other camera, it is inadmissible as the dispensary did not have consent to film them. Seriously.

“All police personnel present had a reasonable expectation that their conversations were no longer being recorded and the undercover officers, feeling that they were safe to do so, removed their masks,” says the suit.

Ironically, the suit goes on to say how the video evidence is the only piece of evidence linking the corrupt cops to their crimes.

“Without the illegal recordings, there would have been no internal investigation of any officer,” the suit says.

Of course there wouldn’t be an internal investigation if the video didn’t exist as the video is what shows the cops committing crimes. Also, if there were no video, it would be the owner’s word against the cops’ word, and we all know how that one plays out.

The audacity in this lawsuit is unfathomable, and it speaks to the sheer above the law mentality of police officers. They were caught, on film, breaking the law and now they are attempting to destroy the only piece of evidence which proves they broke the law.

Imagine if the people on video stealing products were regular citizens and not cops. There would be no question as to the “legality” of the surveillance footage, and they would have been arrested. However, cops who raid shops that sell a beneficial plant to willing customers who use it as medicine to treat their illnesses, are brave heroes out there keeping you safe.

Just because they joked about beating up a disabled woman and stole property does not mean they deserve to be punished or even lose their jobs. After all, there are plenty of other medicinal marijuana dispensaries to shut down, some of which may even be engaged in the horrible criminal activity of helping evil children treat their cancer or epilepsy.

All praise to the champions of freedom who kidnap, cage, and kill people over this wicked plant.

Even if these officers are successful at removing the video from their “investigation,” they cannot undo the fact that it was watched by millions. Share this article with your friends and family to show them the truth, before they hear some “official version” of it which makes no mention of this key piece of evidence.

So even in your own private property while the king's men are breaking laws, you exposing them is illegal, according to the lawsuit.

Basically you have no private property.

So if one of the king's men marches into your home and commits acts against you or your property, if you expose their actions, they will sue you for violating THEIR privacy. Mundanes don't have privacy you see, only the kings men.

Cops Charged after Breaking into Pot Shop, Stealing & Eating Edibles, Destroying Property

    http://thefreethoughtproject.com/vid...ying-property/

    Matt Agorist March 15, 2016

Santa Ana, CA — In June of last year, police raided a marijuana dispensary and were caught on a surveillance camera stealing the merchandise and breaking things. Police entered the “Sky High” dispensary in riot gear with guns drawn and were extremely disrespectful to the owners of the property as well as the guests, some of whom were disabled.

One of the occupants was a partially blind paraplegic, and the officers were making jokes about her disability. They even suggested to one another that they should have assaulted her.

“Did you punch that one-legged old Benita,” a male officer asks a female officer.

“I was about to kick her in her f—ing nub,” the female officer replies after the police were in the building alone.

The cameras captured the officers making profane jokes to one another while they played darts and testing out the merchandise in the store. In one part of the video, an officer can be seen taking a big bite out of what appears to be a marijuana edible, before he shakes his head in satisfaction and gives the other officers a “thumbs up.”

In the video released by the dispensary, cops, in an effort to conceal their acts were seen destroying all the cameras they could see before stealing property and insulting people with disabilities. However, there was one camera that remained hidden and intact, and only because of this camera was the investigation even launched.

After this video was released, it went super viral and exposed these abusive and corrupt officers for the criminals they are.

For nearly a year, the officers have fought to get out of any charges, claiming that the cameras inside the store were “illegal,” and, therefore, not admissible.

The District Attorney appears to be on their side too, as they quickly maintained that the snack items eaten inside the pot shop did not contain marijuana — in spite of the shop owners showing that the cookies were “edibles.”

“Because some were consuming regular food products does not mean they were not consuming edibles,” said attorney Matthew Pappas.

Despite their best efforts to fight all their charges, it was announced on Monday that three of the officers will be charged — all misdemeanors, of course.

For stealing and eating the cookies and protein bars from the shop, all the officers were charged with petty theft. The officer who smashed all of the surveillance cameras in the store was also charged with vandalism.

If convicted of petty theft, according to ABC7, officers Jorge Arroyo, 32 and Nicole Lynn Quijas, 37, face a maximum sentence of six months in jail and a $1,000 fine. Officer Brandon Matthew Sontag, 31, faces up to 18 months in jail and a $2,000 fine for petty theft and the additional misdemeanor vandalism count for smashing the cameras.

The officers are scheduled for arraignment on April 11.

Watch the video below and you decide who the criminals are in this scenario. Are the criminals the peaceful people attempting to purchase a plant to help with their ailments — or, were they the armed gang members who assaulted those people with assault rifles, smashed up private property, stole property, and attempted to destroy the evidence of their unscrupulous behavior?
