It's important for Cruz to be on the road to peel away votes from Rand Paul. The Senate comes second. Neo-Cons need Cruz to come through for them.

He was there for part of it. He lead the Senate for part of it. Near the very end he praised Ron Paul and asked Rand Paul a question. Just like Mike Lee, Cruz encouraged folks to support reauthorizing most of the bad parts of the Patriot Act.
