You do that and you guarantee that only the media/establishment candidates are heard from.

Ban TV! Only halfway joking here. TV is largely responsible for the decline of society in many ways. Don't ban it but don't watch it either.

Yeah, I think this is what could happen.
There is enormous inertia — a tyranny of the status quo — in private and especially governmental arrangements. Only a crisis — actual or perceived — produces real change. When that crisis occurs, the actions that are taken depend on the ideas that are lying around. That, I believe, is our basic function: to develop alternatives to existing policies, to keep them alive and available until the politically impossible becomes politically inevitable

I don't support banning them but if you think about it, they probably kill more people than cigarettes.

Okay... I admit that's a tough case to make... but if you factor in the fact that the US government helped increase their usage dramatically and then consider the millions taken out in wars then you might have a good case.

I want to ban the word "ban", but I don't know how to do it.

The money will come from one of three sources: donors, taxpayers, or the candidates themselves. Seems people have a problem with all three, so I guess it's pick your poison.
