Why is this place called "LIBERTY" University?
Highlights of Liberty University's Controlling and Fascist-like methods:
The university also has an all-encompassing code of conduct, called €œThe Liberty Way, which governs what students can say, do, read, and watch both on and off campus €“ and sets out a regimen of reprimands and fines for violators.

Hopefully, they are smart enough to wear those shirts to show unity with the Cruz supporters instead of open mocking. But college kids... Who knows?
"And now that the legislators and do-gooders have so futilely inflicted so many systems upon society, may they finally end where they should have begun: May they reject all systems, and try liberty; for liberty is an acknowledgment of faith in God and His works." - Bastiat

It has been done. Of course, the spin was not, 'These people are just trying to break through the Ron Paul media blackout,' but rather that we were rude.
Dubya set up massive security at his rallies and anyone with a shirt that was in any way off message was not allowed in. Of course, given that this was a mandatory assembly at Liberty, that wasn't exactly possible here. But expect these things to happen elsewhere.

The Texan's presidential announcement Monday had some party crashers.
BY SHANE GOLDMACHER

LYNCHBURG, Va.—Sen. Ted Cruz took the stage to declare his presidential candidacy at Liberty University Monday, surrounded by upwards of 10,000 cheering students. They weren't all here by choice.
Attendance at convocation at Liberty is mandatory, and a group of students clad in "Stand With Rand" shirts sat center stage—directly in view of the cameras—to log their displeasure with having to be here.
"Of course, you want it to appear as if you have a large audience," said Eli McGowan, who organized the not-so-subtle protest. "We felt like if we didn't wear shirts showing our true political preference then the media might think we all supported Cruz."
"They make you come. If you don't come, you get punished," said Ana Delgado, a sophomore, who said students face a $10 fine for not showing up at convocation. Delgado wasn't among those wearing Paul gear. She is undecided about who she'll support in 2016, but she didn't like being forced to be part of Cruz's announcement.

Lol, Cruz knew he wouldn't be able to attract an impressive crowd so he announces at a mandatory student event.

So the 9 Rand supporters were the only individuals who were there voluntarily, and the rest were forced to go support Cruz 2016. Yeah that about sums up Ted Cruz I think

And so what if he agrees with those rules? As long as he isn't advocating for those rules to be applied to society forcefully, who gives a $#@! what he or any other politician thinks?
And no.. Ted Cruz would not advocate a society in which R-rated movies or kissing is banned. Let's not be idiotic here.

Brawndo's got what plants crave. Its got electrolytes.
H. L. Mencken said it best:
“Democracy is the theory that the common people know what they want, and deserve to get it good and hard.”
"As democracy is perfected, the office of president represents, more and more closely, the inner soul of the people. On some great and glorious day the plain folks of the land will reach their heart's desire at last and the White House will be adorned by a downright moron."
Sure, but let's also be real. Ted Cruz is an opportunist who knows he has no real shot at the nomination, but rather his main objective is to fool as many people possible into supporting him over Rand in order to hand Jeb Bush n company the nomination.
Also the blaze network ie Glen Beck is already shilling as hard as they can saying on his show this morning among many other absurd things that obviously apply to Rand that it's Cruz, not Rand that is drawing all the independent support and that's what it's going to take to win the general election. Wow Glen really??? Even though Rand draws the most support among independents while Cruz draws very little, close to the bottom actually, he then goes on a tirade of how others are dishonest and not telling the truth. To the uninformed this all sounds great but to someone like myself that knows better find these deception tactics despicable and gutless. It also honestly goes against everything the man supposedly stands for. Using and invoking God as a means to hoodwink people to vote for you has always been something i simply cannot stomach.. God bless you all but most of all SEND YOUR MONEY... The man is a fraud and those that support him and know the truth are equally frauds, period!!!

The counter-revolution will not be televised.
Private institutions are perfectly within their rights to lay down codes of conduct for people who want to be a part of those institutions, on penalty of the severance of their membership. Mind you, some of those rules do seem unreasonable to me (no R-rated movies, no dancing, no kissing?), but they are perfectly compatible with liberty so long as they are part of an entirely voluntary agreement which the students accept when joining the university.
How funny is that these kids have to attend an assembly? What is Liberty University? An elementary school? I couldn't even imagine being in college and being forced to at attend something like this. It is pretty Orwellian that the most anti-liberty school on the planet is called Liberty University.
Wait a minute... so if you attend Liberty University there is mandatory attence at political rallies for people you don't support?
Is this the Onion? North Korea? Twilight Zone?

'We endorse the idea of voluntarism; self-responsibility: Family, friends, and churches to solve problems, rather than saying that some monolithic government is going to make you take care of yourself and be a better person. It's a preposterous notion: It never worked, it never will. The government can't make you a better person; it can't make you follow good habits.' - Ron Paul 1988

by Andrew Desiderio
5:27 pm, March 23rd, 2015
Earlier today, Mediaite noticed a trove of Rand Paul supporters who were sporting “Stand with Rand” t-shirts at Ted Cruz‘s announcement that he was entering the 2016 presidential race. After Cruz’s speech, CNN reporter Jeff Zeleny caught up with those Liberty University students, who were forced to be in attendance for the speech.
According to them, they were being used as “props,” and they weren’t happy about it.
“He’s a Christian man, he’s definitely a nice guy,” one student said. “It’s just that, from my personal beliefs, he’s a little bit too much of a war hawk.”
Watch the video below, via CNN:
can someone please tell me how ted cruz can even run? Wasn't he born in canada? ooo so comical spreading the ben swann story on fb about shirts.
