    Pro-liberty entertainment shows and movies

Sometimes reality is too depressing but it'd be nice if there was something entertaining to watch that was at least anti-patriotardism. Seems like most shows either worship the state or turn a blind eye to it.

This is in part a personal request but also think it'd be nice to help some better stuff gain traction, cause what our fellow Americans watch shapes their minds immensely.

    Thanks!

I could list a lot of anti-govt / anti-war films. The promotion of liberty itself is often secondary at best.

All Quiet on the Western Front (1930)
    Catch-22 (1970)
    Hearts and Minds (1974)
    Brazil (1985)
    The Trial (1962)
A Man for All Seasons (1966)
    The Lives of Others (2006)
    All the President's Men (1976)
    The Fifth Seal (1976)
    Witchhammer (1970)
    The Joke (1969)
    The Witness (1969)
Investigation of a Citizen Above Suspicion (1970)
    Mr. Freedom (1969)
    Missing (1982)
The Rise and Rise of Michael Rimmer (1970)

Thanks everyone! I'll be sure to look up all these suggestions.and don't worry if they don't promote liberty first and foremost.

Basically I just want something that is:
    a) good and entertaining to watch
    b) somewhat against patriotardism and state-worship

Heck, even something like Apocalypse Now would qualify to me. It's just so frustrating when all the supposedly good shows and movies just seem part of some big entertainment complex which promotes values that destroy society, and that's why I made this.

There is only one correct way: freedom. All other solutions are non-solutions.

It appears that artificial intelligence is at least slightly superior to natural stupidity.

Our words make us the ghosts that we are.

Convincing the world he didn't exist was the Devil's second greatest trick; the first was convincing us that God didn't exist.

BTW milgram.... gonna check out a couple of the others on your list based on this and a couple others.
I can't watch A Man For All Seasons again, though. Makes the wife bawl.

This one's tricky. Definitely on the must-see list... but to tell the truth, I judge not people's devotion to liberty by this movie, but their basic cognitive powers.
I'm regularly surprised at how many people have told me "Yeah, it was kind of funny but it wasn't that great"... I write them off as people to have meaningful conversations with after that.

But my suggestion, even though it's not really spreading a positive liberty message:

This actually follows the FBI warning:

There are no crimes against people.
There are only crimes against the state.
And the state will never, ever choose to hold accountable its agents, because a thing can not commit a crime against itself.

Yeah it's a great film. This scene really resonates with me.

The second one is absolutely libertarian themed. Doesn't get anymore libertarian than "I successfully privatized world peace"

    Also a terrible film.

    Inspired by left-wing/socialist anarchism.
The graphic novel certainly was (it was also a far superior piece of fiction than the film), but the movie was really just against totalitarian government and a criticism of the Bush administration. The comic had depths and resonance that the film couldn't hope to achieve, unfortunately.

Would " To Kill A Mockingbird" qualify as pro liberty? Understanding that the out come was unjust, the concept of Atticus Fitch standing up fore and defending another person of color, their right to a fair trial during an era where folks of color were constantly denied their liberties, therefore I vote to " kill a mockingbird" a liberty minded movie....
