Nice! After the critters destroyed my beans and strawberries, I decided I am done with that. I'm going with a greenhouse.

I want to build a pyramid greenhouse but, depending on the size, I might not be allowed to. It's "whimsical" and the county building code control freak progs aren't into that. "Private" property. LOL

My neighbors have had blackberry bushes growing for years and last year they used a pyramid shaped trellis. They had a banner year. I should add, everything else grew like crap. 2014 was a horrible year for gardening around these parts.

Based on the idea of natural rights, government secures those rights to the individual by strictly negative intervention, making justice costless and easy of access; and beyond that it does not go. The State, on the other hand, both in its genesis and by its primary intention, is purely anti-social. It is not based on the idea of natural rights, but on the idea that the individual has no rights except those that the State may provisionally grant him. It has always made justice costly and difficult of access, and has invariably held itself above justice and common morality whenever it could advantage itself by so doing.

Very nice website. I am so looking forward to spring. This is what my greenhouse looks like right now:

I have 4 50' long light-gage i-beams from which I am planning a 40x40 pyramid. The glass is the tough part. It will also need four very sturdy stanchions, one at each corner of very high strength concrete and lots of rebar. If I ever get it done, it should provide all the means necessary for year-round food production.

There is only one correct way: freedom. All other solutions are non-solutions.

Cool! Looks like it's a solid construction. How much is it costing you in materials?

I have a crappy back deck that I'm thinking I can convert into a greenhouse. I'd like to say that I've drawn up the plans, but this deck is so ghetto that I think it might be pointless because I'll have to totally wing it.

Yeah, I know what you're saying. Guess I get annoyed when you have to be on guard for all this nonsense all the time. I have fairly good virus software on this computer, but I still stay away from a lot of things. Even those slide show articles are annoying. I never even click on a Daily Mail article.

Anyway, my brother and father would garden when I was small. I never had an appreciation for it. I was into books too much and dumb theoretical learning. Never hands on. Thought going to the store for food was good enough.

One time I was unemployed for two years. Really got into gardening. Saved a small amount of money and at least felt a little productive. I should probably get off this site more so I can garden this year. I stopped watching TV and this computer has taken its place. D'oh!

    Four Season gardening.

Right now, I am growing veggies and herbs that are cold-hardy winter crops, no heat--broccoli, cabbage, brussel sprouts, spinach, carrots, leeks, Parsley, Rosemary, turnips, and Boston lettuce. So long as you keep them from the wind they will do well. I started my winter crops in August of last year.

What state do you live in? Did you get a lot of snow recently to where to affected your crops in a bad way?

Picked this one up at thanks giving for $99 http://www.tractorsupply.com/en/stor...n-w#review-tab

The plastic is fairly heavy but for $100 it certainly is cheap enough to try it before spending $1k on one.

I am in NH. Yes we did get a lot of snow. But winter crops are fine, so long as they do not get hit by wind, the low temps don't really affect the cold-hardy crops.

I have one of those inside my main greenhouse so I can start my spring crops early.
