With the rest of the nation suddenly becoming pro war after a spate of terror porn Rand's positions look very non interventionist. Those of us who are non interventionist need to circle the wagons. The sad reality is that it's the interventions themselves that have directly and indirectly led to the rise of ISIS.

They've been running this fundraiser for many months now as I remember hearing about it last year at different times. They've been in precarious financial straights ever since Obama became president and the fraudulent anti-war left got assimilated. Perhaps, the lefty libertarians are starting to see the light.

You're just cynical. There is legitimate reasons to be concerned about some of Rand's rhetoric. In fact if some of Rand's rhetoric wasn't making some of his erstwhile supporters a bit uncomfortable it wouldn't be doing its job. Rand has staked his political future on somehow bringing teocons into the liberty movement. But right now Rand moderation sounds dovish because the general American people have gone temporarily insane. In 2013 Americans rejected the idea of arming Islamic militants to fight Assad. The Obama administration did it anyway, those militants showed themselves to be bloodthristy killers, and the media has convinced the American people to go along with giving more weapons to those same bloodthirsty killers so that they can supposedly fight themselves.
