GOP Lawmaker In Arizona Wants To Nullify Federal Gun Laws

Arizona state Sen. Kelli Ward (R) has sponsored a bill to nullify federal gun laws that the state deems are "in violation of the Second Amendment."

The Arizona Senate's Federalism, Mandates and Fiscal Responsibility Committee was scheduled to hear the bill on Tuesday morning, The Arizona Republic reported.

Ward's bill would declare invalid and void all federal laws "that violate the Second Amendment's true meaning and intent as given by the founders and ratifiers of the United States Constitution," according to the paper.

The legislation would nullify any federal firearms law "that relates to a personal firearm, firearm accessory or ammunition within the limits of this state," the Republic reported.

Neither Ward nor the spokesperson for the Arizona Senate GOP caucus responded to TPM's request for comment on Tuesday.

The concept of a state nullifying federal laws has seen a renaissance among small-government and libertarian groups such as the Tenth Amendment Center, a California-based think tank that advocates states rights on issues like on pot legalization, health care and gun control.

Ward has made news in the past. She was a vocal supporter of anti-government Nevada rancher Cliven Bundy, traveling to the Bundy ranch with U.S. Rep. Paul Gosar (R) last year.

She also organized a public hearing about constituents' concerns over "chemtrails," a debunked conspiracy theory says that the vapors trailing airplanes are actually toxic chemicals dumped on unsuspecting Americans.

How many times has this been attempted. I have no more good faith.
Theye have refused their Assent to Laws, the most wholesome and necessary for the public good.

Theye have erected a multitude of New Offices, and sent hither swarms of Officers to harass our people and eat out their substance.

Theye kept among us, in times of peace, Standing Armies

Theye have combined with others to subject us to a jurisdiction foreign to our constitution,

For protecting them, by a mock Trial from punishment for any Murders which they should commit on the Inhabitants of these States:

For cutting off our Trade with parts of the world:

For imposing Taxes on us without our Consent:

For depriving us in many cases, of the benefit of Trial by Jury:

Theye plundered and destroyed the lives of our people.

Theye are at this time transporting Armies of Mercenaries to compleat the works of death, desolation, and tyranny, already begun with circumstances of Cruelty & Perfidy scarcely paralleled in the most barbarous ages, and totally unworthy of a civilized nation.

Debunked? Debunked by whom exactly? Why do these online MSM blogger-stooges always post blatant misinformation to impression (that is to mean condition) their small viewership?

Are they also suggesting chem trails are not toxic?
I'd like to hear from them how much they enjoy chem trails in their living rooms, if chem trails are not dangerous.

Bravo to Kelli Ward, though this may not pass, it is important that Bills like this come and go often
to at least show that someone still believes in the US Constitution.
Eventually enough of people will feel comfortable standing up to Government oversteps that Jefferson and Madison
    warned us about.

We lost 600,000 good people in the pursuit of Federalism.
The biggest cause of preventable deaths in the world is not due to lackluster or lack-of gun laws.
GOVERNMENTS cause the biggest number of preventable deaths.
