Vice President Joe Biden said Wednesday he might challenge Hillary Clinton for the party’s nomination in 2016.
“Yes,” Biden said, laughing, when asked if there’s a chance that he’d challenge Clinton.
“There’s a chance, but I haven’t made my mind up about that, we’ve got a lot of work to do between now and then. There’s plenty of time,” Biden said on ABC’s “Good Morning America.”
Biden said Clinton, who leads early polls of Democrats by double digits, is “really competent capable person and a friend.”
He added that he doesn’t think a decision on a bid needs to be made “until the summer,” noting that the race is “wide open on both sides” and repeated that his focus right now is his duties at vice president.
