    Awe man... that's a bummer.

Life really is too damn short.

    RIP Joe.

The most dangerous thing you can do in the immediate future will be to give yourself up unconsciously to the influences which are definitely present.” ~ Rudolf Steiner

RIP, Joe. He was not only a great musician, but a good sport.

Based on the idea of natural rights, government secures those rights to the individual by strictly negative intervention, making justice costless and easy of access; and beyond that it does not go. The State, on the other hand, both in its genesis and by its primary intention, is purely anti-social. It is not based on the idea of natural rights, but on the idea that the individual has no rights except those that the State may provisionally grant him. It has always made justice costly and difficult of access, and has invariably held itself above justice and common morality whenever it could advantage itself by so doing.

Probably the best Ray Charles impersonator there was. Still, Cocker could sing.
"And now that the legislators and do-gooders have so futilely inflicted so many systems upon society, may they finally end where they should have begun: May they reject all systems, and try liberty; for liberty is an acknowledgment of faith in God and His works." - Bastiat

White dude with a lot of soul. He was also very animated. I loved it when he was on Saturday Night Live and John Belushi was onstage with him. Belushi was doing his version of Joe Cocker and then Joe started doing John's version. Condensed clip:

    Joe Cocker - One

Joe Cocker - One (U2 Cover)
    Lyrics:
    Is it getting better
Or do you feel the same
Will it make it easier on you now
    You got someone to blame
    You say...

    One love
    One life
    When it's one need
    In the night
    One love
    We get to share it
    Leaves you baby if you
    Don't care for it

    Did I disappoint you
Or leave a bad taste in your mouth
You act like you never had love
And you want me to go without
    Well it's...

    Too late
    Tonight
To drag the past out into the light
We're one, but we're not the same
    We get to
    Carry each other
    Carry each other
    One...

Have you come here for forgiveness
Have you come to raise the dead
Have you come here to play Jesus
To the lepers in your head

    Did I ask too much
    More than a lot
    You gave me nothing
    Now it's all I got
    We're one
    But we're not the same
    Well we
    Hurt each other
    Then we do it again
    You say
    Love is a temple
    Love a higher law
    Love is a temple
    Love the higher law
    You ask me to enter
But then you make me crawl
And I can't be holding on
    To what you got
When all you got is hurt

    One love
    One blood
    One life
You got to do what you should
    One life
    With each other
    Sisters
    Brothers
    One life
    But we're not the same
    We get to
    Carry each other
    Carry each other

    One...life

    One
