Cops routinely point loaded weapons at people -- like when they stopped all those people at an intersection in Aurora, CO after a bank robbery, they were pointing shotguns at kids.
However, that is not "felony menacing" ....![]()
Well, I guess we can't disguise a pistol to look like banana and get away with anything.
Maybe the cops read this forum. I mean, Occam is a deadly weapon of sorts.

Banana pointed at cops -- felony menacing. Cops point loaded shotgun and pistol at an innocent kid? Proper procedures were followed:

Man arrested; deputies say he aimed banana at them

GRAND JUNCTION, Colo. (AP) — A man is facing a felony menacing charge after two western Colorado sheriff's deputies say he pointed a banana at them and they thought it was a gun.
The Grand Junction Daily Sentinel reports (http://bit.ly/1rqFiVE ) 27-year-old Nathan Rolf Channing, of Fruitvale, was arrested Sunday.
According to an arrest affidavit, Mesa County deputies Joshua Bunch and Donald Love said they feared for their lives even though they saw that the object was yellow. Bunch wrote in the affidavit that he has seen handguns in many shapes and colors.
He wrote that Love was drawing his service weapon when Channing yelled, "It's a banana!"
The deputies say Channing told them he was doing a trial run for a planned YouTube video and he thought it would "lighten the holiday spirit."

We should all feel safer now. At least the police were not physically hurt. Obviously there could be emotional trauma to deal with.
Meanwhile, elsewhere in CO, in Aurora cops can point shotguns, rifles, and handguns at people (including kids) just for being in the vicinity of a bank robbery.
However, point a piece of fruit at cops and it's a felony. It just shows that they really are a higher class of citizens.
I know you guys are all making jokes, but this is serious business. Had that banana been a real weapon, such as an airsoft gun or a bb gun, an officer would have had no choice but to put him down.
And this decision happens in milliseconds. It has to -- or a cop could get hurt.
