    Having Rand's name in the URL factors quite a bit into the association, plus the anchor text when people repost the links elsewhere.

    Also, when you guys are doing these searches, make sure you are doing it incognito to get results that are not tailored to your own browsing/search history.

    I suspect google knows you like those sites and that is why they are showing up. Neither of those sites show up for me when searching for "Rand Paul" in google news.
