Seattle Socialist Party demands $20/hr minimum wage, Ban PT Jobs

Often it seems as though there is no end to the left’s hypocrisy. And, the farther the left, the more apparent the hypocrisy. Such is the case with the Freedom Socialist Party, a national party.

The Freedom Socialist Party has strong ties to Seattle. According to the party’s website, it actively campaigned for Kshama Sawant in her race for Seattle City Council. It “helped secure union endorsements and donations, and near support from the King County Labor Council…”

The Freedom Socialist Party does differ from Sawant in one respect. You see, for this particular socialist party, a $15 minimum wage is just not good enough. Its national party platform calls for full-time employment (no part-time jobs allowed) and a $20 per hour minimum wage for all people. However, by every indication, the Freedom Socialist Party believes that what its platform states, and even what it helped implement in Seattle ($15 minimum wage), does not apply to itself.

According to The Daily Caller, the Freedom Socialist Party recently placed a job opening ad on Indeed.com and Craigslist seeking a web content manager in Seattle. Interestingly enough, the position pays $13 per hour and is part-time. The Freedom Socialist Party demands quite a lot from prospective applicants—including, ironically, proficiency in programs owned by multi-billion dollar companies. But, what really takes the cake is an addendum next to the $13 per hour compensation line that informs applicants of the possibility of more money “depending upon experience/skills.” In other words, if you are better at the job, you may get more money—though, we assume, not $20 per hour.

Wow. You have to be a special sort of idiot to ban part-time jobs. If I worked full-time, I'd be essentially abandoning my own child.

I demand banning of all socialism . That $#@! is not tolerated on my property .The rest of you should do the same .

This might just be one of those cases where we should just go on ahead and let them have complete power. Let them implement $20 minimum wage and see what happens. Tell them why it will fail publicly beforehand, laugh at them when it collapses, and see if anyone wakes up.

I think it was Lew Rockwell who at one point said the best argument against government programs is often to just let them run as they are intended and they will speak for themselves.

That's the idea. Children should be in fulltime daycare.

    I hope they get it.
“One may come to the aid of another being unlawfully arrested, just as he may where one is being assaulted, molested, raped or kidnapped. Thus it is not an offense to liberate one from the unlawful custody of an officer, even though he may have submitted to such custody, without resistance.” (Adams v. State, 121 Ga. 16, 48 S.E. 910).
