Thread: Going to hell.

    Going to hell.

    Here's a Dante's Inferno Test.

Some of these questions were hard to answer.

For example: It is acceptable to use false flattery to get ahead & Hammering away on scandals is a good way to damage those with whom you disagree politically.

From an ethical POV- absolutely not. However, I answered true because a person will go with what works. If you're a power-seeking person, deception, flattery, and character assassination are a means in which to obtain it. There are very few 'moral' people who lust for power.

The Dante's Inferno Test has banished you to the Sixth Level of Hell - The City of Dis!
Here is how you matched up against all the levels:

    Level | Score
    Purgatory | Very Low
    Level 1 - Limbo | Low
    Level 2 | Low
    Level 3 | Low
    Level 4 | Low
    Level 5 | High
Level 6 - The City of Dis | Very High
    Level 7 | Moderate
    Level 8 - The Malebolge | High
    Level 9 - Cocytus | Low

I got as far as this question and quit.

Can you see yourself engaging in treason against your country?

All nonbelievers, regardless of their personal moral codes, will come out as 'heretics' and banished to the sixth level of hell.

Ah never mind. WTF? Why am I going to level 6, and not level 1? Because I am 'gloomy'? This test sucked.

    Purgatory - Repending Believers
    Level 1 - Limbo - Virtuous Non-Believers
    Level 2 - Lustful
    Level 3 - Gluttonous
Level 4 - Prodigal and Avaricious
Level 5 - Wrathful and Gloomy
Level 6 - The City of Dis - Heretics
    Level 7 - Violent
Level 8 - The Malebolge - Fraudulent, Malicious, Panderers
    Level 9 - Cocytus - Treacherous

I was 'saved' as a child. Does that count for something?

Can one be 'saved' even if they don't believe?

YES! I agree. I FEEL the best way to achieve contentedness in life is to become the person who replies "nothing" when asked the question: "what are you thinking about". I seriously envy them.

EDIT: No I don't...because envy is a sin. I admire them.

Why would you work in hell, uncle Oyarde? You'd probably do well as a comedian.

What makes you think you don't believe?

(I am sure you believe some things,, or you believe that you believe them)

The real question is what exactly you do believe.
Liberty is lost through complacency and a subservient mindset. When we accept or even welcome automobile checkpoints, random searches, mandatory identification cards, and paramilitary police in our streets, we have lost a vital part of our American heritage. America was born of protest, revolution, and mistrust of government. Subservient societies neither maintain nor deserve freedom for long.

I believe that my beliefs (and everyone else's) are utterly irrelevant in the universe. They die when we do.

My family is Christian, but my brain has always rejected the notion of a preternatural being watching over us and protecting us. However, I partake in many of the cultural elements of Christianity- I celebrate Christmas, for example. I just reject the idea of a God.

There's a difference in my mind, between 'my country' and 'the government'.

ou have come to a place mute of all light, where the wind bellows as the sea does in a tempest. This is the realm where the lustful spend eternity. Here, sinners are blown around endlessly by the unforgiving winds of unquenchable desire as punishment for their transgressions. The infernal hurricane that never rests hurtles the spirits onward in its rapine, whirling them round, and smiting, it molests them. You have betrayed reason at the behest of your appetite for pleasure, and so here you are doomed to remain. Cleopatra and Helen of Troy are two that share in your fate.
I made it to level 2!

At least I get to bang Cleopatra and Helen of Troy for eternity
There are only two things we should fight for. One is the defense of our homes and the other is the Bill of Rights. War for any other reason is simply a racket.

    I got to purgatory

  22. #19
BTW: I actually did say "Yes" to the "could commit treason" question, and I still wound up in purgatory, so I don't think its all based on one question. Unbelievers probably cannot do better than the first level on this test.

  23. #20
I already live in Purgatory. I am not looking forward to The City of Dis.
