Thread: traded in all my gold for a motorcycle.

  1. #1

traded in all my gold for a motorcycle.

All two ounces of it. Amazing that those little coins that have been sitting in my drawer for years doing nothing got me a really nice bike. They seem so over valued. Anyway riding a motorcycle is fun i recommend it.

Pic isn't of my exact bike, though mine is a 2012 in similar condition. I'm almost surprised the government even allows us to do this. Seems like too much fun to be legal. And 80 mpg... can't beat that

My friend has a white honda. I don't know anything about motorbikes but they look cool.

    This is your first one?

Yep first bike ever. Just took a motorcycle safety class last week then went out and bought this one (I talked the guy down a bit from asking price)

Anyone here learn how to ride with a suicide clutch? Oh, that's a hoot alright.

Looks like a lot of fun! I've owned a Honda scooter, 150cc before, but the small tires have a short lifespan, so my next one will be a motorcycle along the lines of what you bought, or maybe a dual-sport like this

I thought of this thread when I saw a biker come with a hair of getting creamed today when a Mercedes who was obviously attempting to cut me off, pulled out right in front of the motorcycle in front of me that they clearly didn't see.

Had you ever ridden a bike before? Be careful out there man, I grew up riding dirt bikes and you'd never find me wanting to ride one on the streets around Philly, NJ, or other city.

You better keep a good eye out for all the idiots and I do not want to hear about you riding at high speeds.

Liberty is lost through complacency and a subservient mindset. When we accept or even welcome automobile checkpoints, random searches, mandatory identification cards, and paramilitary police in our streets, we have lost a vital part of our American heritage. America was born of protest, revolution, and mistrust of government. Subservient societies neither maintain nor deserve freedom for long.

My little 250 has a 0-60 time slower than a ford escort... so I won't be going too fast

Got myself a full face helmet and jacket fitted with body armor.... so that should help a bit if I ever take a dump.

Skid-lids and leather only reduce road rash once you're down, the idea is to stay up!

Do yourself a favor and don't rely on clothing to protect you..

Be careful. Ive ridden high power sportbikes for many years and have the scars to prove it. I still take my beast out once in a while but the rush has somewhat worn off as I get older. It's fun, no doubt, but cagers (biker lingo for car drivers) are crazy and seem to be getting more reckless all the time.

I'd have kept the gold and bought the bike with FRNs instead.

They have never yet and they never will have the sense to reflect that this hobby-horse is a manifest violation of the most important law of nature, which has established from the very creation of the world one unit unlike another and precisely for the purpose of instituting individuality."- A Quote From Some Old Book

    Yup..

Good advice I was given as a young man,,, long ago.
Ride like the bike,, the other cars,, and the road, is out to kill you,, personally.
The first time you get on it thinking,,"I know what I'm doing",,, you are going down.
The truth of this has been my experience. The only times I hit the ground was when I was $#@!ing off,, and not being careful.
