Thread: What's for dinner?

I have plenty of meat in the freezer but when I'm the only one home, why bother? Other than meat, I buy fresh produce and I hate waste so I don't go to the store until it's used up. I don't really have a special day. I just go when I'm out of food. I check my staples (canned tuna, dried beans, flour, sugar) once a month. If I run out before my once a month shop, we live without or someone else goes to the store. I hate grocery shopping.

Pan fried hogfish (aka: piggyfish) with garlic fettucine and broccoli.

Kid said hogfish "tastes like hotdogs!"

I didn't feel like cooking tonight, so my dinner is a banana/mango/lime smoothie, and a muffin.

Simmer the chicken, peppers and aromatic spices until they're good and hot and the garlic is roasted, then stir in the plain yoghurt and remove it from the heat just as soon as it's warm.

And don't spare the curry. If there's not enough to cover up that yoghurt taste, there's not enough.
I'll definitely give it another chance. This may sound silly, but one of the reasons I'm not a fan of Indian food is because many years ago, on my sister's 21st birthday, we all had too much champagne to drink and Indian food that night, and I got really sick and threw up.

Also, when I was in Malaysia, I had Indian food there that wasn't very good.

But the veggie masala I had recently was soooo yummy.

Not so silly. I still can't drink Carlo Rossi red thirty years later.

The Indians do some interesting desserts with mango. Might be a place to start...

Burritos with rice, beans and chorizo (vegan, but it tasted exactly like regular chorizo, minus the grease.)

    It was very tasty.

Eating indian food that makes me throw up and get diarrhea has never stopped me from stuffing myself like a goldfish

I personally like neer and masala dosas the best. No one in India does good cooking like the south thats for sure.

I want to try more Indian dishes. Neer sounds interesting. I'll look up a recipe for it sometime in the near future. (Pun not intended) :P
