McCain Gaffes Going After Rand Paul: ‘Has He Met With ISIS?’

John McCain’s slip of the tongue won’t help him quell Internet accusations that he once met and took pictures with members of the terrorist group the Islamic State in Iraq and Syria (ISIS).

Appearing on Fox News’ “Hannity” Monday night, the Arizona Republican senator went off on Rand Paul after host Sean Hannity brought up the Kentucky Republican senator’s concern that providing weapons to Syrian rebels will only end up benefiting ISIS.

“Has Rand Paul ever been to Syria? Has he ever met with ISIS?” McCain fumed, certainly meaning to say the Free Syrian Army instead of ISIS.

    ...

Back in March 2013, McCain actually snuck into Syria to meet with some of the Syrian rebel opposition. Since that trip, McCain’s political enemies have accused the 2008 Republican presidential nominee of not only meeting and taking pictures with the so-called moderate opposition, but also members of ISIS. McCain says he did nothing of the sort and no real evidence has ever been provided to show that any of the men McCain took pictures with were ever affiliated with ISIS.

LOL It's funny how at the end of the video Hannity tries to "fix it" for McCain by switching the subject to "shock and awe".

McCain and Hannity have alot of slips of the tongue here . . .

IIRC, didn't McCain meet with ISIS? Or one of the other "good rebels" that was actually a terrorist?

McCain has been slipping in interviews lately. I think he's finally succumbing to age. This may be his last term in the Senate.

He dominated Jay Carney recently (regardless of his views).

Carney is transitioning from press secretary to media pundit. It'll be a while until he's comfortable in a rapidfire interview setting.

In any event, McCain has made numerous slips in recent interviews, saying he supports ISIS (when he meant to say Obama, wrt airstrikes), and now this example.

Gee, more evidence that elements of the US government are KNOWINGLY supplying ISIS. McCain, of course, is notorious for being the head of the political wing of the CIA - where he goes, black ops mischief has already been under way.

This photo sequence says it all

If McCain met with either Ford or Abdul Jabbar, he's met with ISIS or cut-outs for the same.

Anybody know if there are documented cases of advanced senility in the House or Senate? What's the protocol? Seems like in 250 years there would have been several.
