Food Freedom Fest and the War on Our Food

Rep. Thomas Massie (R-KY) is one such legislator. His responses to a few questions about his interest in food freedom deserves to be published in full:

What is your interest in food freedom.

“I graze fifty head of cattle on my farm, so food and farm freedom issues are important not only to my constituents, but also to me as a farmer. On the side, we keep twenty chickens, five ducks, and three beehives for our own family’s food.

Rep. Jared Polis, Rep. Earl Blumenauer, and I introduced an amendment to the farm bill that made hemp pilot programs in Kentucky possible this year. Industrial hemp will be a great economic opportunity for American farmers, manufacturers, and consumers, and it’s my hope that Kentuckians will once again be able to grow the crop commercially.
He sounds like one of those radical foodies. Great stuff!
