Is it okay if we made a poll in general politics asking how many here think he has the legal authority to go after ISIS in Syria right now? I know there are a number of members on this forum that believe in the air strikes and immediate military action including going into Syria, I wonder if they believe that Obama has the authority to do that now without getting any type of up or down vote from congress, as seems to be the direction they are going with. The one exception being a possible vote on additional funds needed in the general war on terrorism, but without mention of Syria or specifics.

What happens if the Pretender In Chief (PINC) stands in front of Congress to claim the authority to bomb any square inch of the planet he wants to at will, and Congress doesn't manage to do anything to restrain him? I am not sure the rest of the planet will like that action very much.

There are so many nationalists winning elections all over Europe now. I don't think they will like hearing o'Bombya claim the authority to bomb them either. Particularly considering that England is a miniature hotbed of this stuff right now. Is this President about to claim the authority to bomb England? I just think if that's what's about to happen, it's going to go very, very badly for us. Worse than AQ redux and Iraq War 2.

Funniest comparison I've heard yet, a retired general on CNN just said looking at Syria is incredibly complicated and has about the similar level of difficulty determining who the good guys are from the bad guys as cast of characters in a Star Wars Bar, lol. He said that fighting in Syria is going to be more complicated than the war in Iraq was, he made a number of other comments needless to say he didn't paint a flattering picture of an easy path forward.
