At the least I think "idolater" is fine. I'm not even going to debate the truthfulness or lack thereof of the accusation, but I think a statement like that has to be fair game in a religious debate. I'd say the same thing about "troll" or "abomination." And probably even "satanic idiot" although I feel like that's overboard and you'd have to really tick me off to get me to do that (theoretically any non-Christian is satanic but I know the connotations of that are broader.)
I'm not giving a blanket defense of Nang's actions. If you'll recall, we had a falling out (though we have reconciled now, thanks be to Christ) over the whole Calvin/Servetus issue awhile back. Nang is not perfect. But this kind of ridiculous one sided bashing is ridiculous.
And for the record, I am nowhere near perfect, lest anyone accuse me of claiming to be.
I actually don't think you should be permanently banned for the comment. But I don't think Nang should have been permanently banned for calling you a slut. So, either he unbans Nang (I doubt she ever wants to post here again, but its symbolic), or you should be banned, or Bryan is a hypocrite.

Liberty is lost through complacency and a subservient mindset. When we accept or even welcome automobile checkpoints, random searches, mandatory identification cards, and paramilitary police in our streets, we have lost a vital part of our American heritage. America was born of protest, revolution, and mistrust of government. Subservient societies neither maintain nor deserve freedom for long.
