Something is very wrong here. Something is upside down.

Now that the world has been put on notice about Ebola, it’s time to try facts instead of scare tactics.

The World Health Organization (WHO) is the primary reporting agency on case numbers and deaths. Taking their stats with a few grains of salt, but recognizing that mainstream accounts come from WHO, here is their July 25 update, “Ebola Virus Disease, West Africa”:

1201 total cases. 672 deaths. These numbers cover Guinea, Sierra Leone, and Liberia—the Ebola focus areas.

Looking a little deeper, we see that WHO divides each number into categories: “confirmed,” “probable,” and “suspected.”

Diagnostic methods for IDing Ebola in those 3 countries are uncertain. Therefore, we should only consider the category labeled “confirmed,” and even then we should have doubts.

So let’s look at the total for confirmed Ebola case numbers in those countries.

    It’s 814.

    Confirmed number of deaths? 456.

Now consider another WHO report. This one is titled: “Influenza (Seasonal) World Health Organization,” dated April 2009.

It’s the WHO fact sheet on regular seasonal flu, the kind that is said to infect people globally, year after year, like clockwork.

    Ready?

Annual number of severe cases: 3-5 million.

Annual number of deaths: between 250,000 and 500,000.

    Remember, that’s every year—not a one-time shot.

When it comes to seasonal regular flu, the World Health Organization issues no scare reports, no dire warnings, and the press mentions nothing. Zero.

However, with 814 confirmed cases and 456 deaths from Ebola, the whole world is put on notice.

We hear about possible travel restrictions. In the US, portable disease-diagnosing machines have been passed out out to many local communities. There are murmurs about detaining people who may have come in contact with somebody who may have Ebola.

Something is very wrong here. Something is upside down.

If you set aside the images and fear-mongering of the press, you begin to see this is a propaganda operation, there is a selective process at work—what disease to promote, what disease to ignore.

Imagine what would happen if WHO released a statement in which it substituted “Ebola” for “regular seasonal flu”:

“There are 3 to five million cases of Ebola worldwide. Between 250,000 and 500,000 people are dead.”

    The world would go crazy.

But again, there ARE 3 to 5 million cases, every year, of regular seasonal flu, and according to WHO, between 250,000 and 500,000 people die from it.

    And the world does nothing.

People would respond, “Oh, but you see, Ebola is different. People hemorrhage. They bleed out and die. It’s horrible.”

Now we’re talking about the process of dying, as if that really matters.

And, with flu, when people die, they often drown in their own mucus. Is that vivid enough to rank alongside Ebola?

    Ebola is a propaganda operation.

Choices are being made: what to emphasize, what to ignore, what to use in order to invoke fear.

Producing fear, one way or another, is a standard element in exerting top-down control over the population.

When people are afraid, they’re compliant, they’re obedient to authority.

    And that’s the agenda.

That is intentionally misleading. Influenza virus kills the weak, the young and old indirectly. Ebola directly kills healthy adults.

Fear mongering. Ebola does have a 90% mortality rate if not caught early, but it is not airborne:

EBOLA IS ONLY SPREAD THROUGH BODILY FLUIDS. The Ebola virus is not airborne, so people would have to come into contact with the bodily fluids of an infected person. These include blood, sweat, vomit, feces, urine, saliva or semen — making transmission through casual contact in a public setting unlikely.
Massive pandemic is HIGHLY unlikely unless it is airborne.
There are only two things we should fight for. One is the defense of our homes and the other is the Bill of Rights. War for any other reason is simply a racket.

There are actually several different strains of Ebola. The 90% mortality rate is for the Ebola Zaire, which is the most virulent strain. I'm assuming it is the Zaire strain that's active right now in west Africa.

What's really scary is the fact that Ebola can mutate quickly.

If you get a chance, read The Hot Zone by Richard Preston. He details how the U.S. Army was experimenting with Ebola ("studying" it.... yeah, right...) at a complex in Reston, Virginia. The monkeys they were using for the study had been infected with one strain of Ebola, but the virus mutated and became airborne transmissible.

By pure luck, the mutation also rendered it nearly 100% fatal for the monkeys, but unable to infect humans. If it had been as virulent to humans... well... yikes.

I do agree that the sort of apocalyptic outbreak seen in movies and TV is unlikely here for many reasons. But an outbreak would NOT be fun, especially considering the incubation period can be up to three weeks. That's a long time to go without exposing anyone else in one's life to a little sweat or saliva.

LOL! The fear mongering is being done by the MSM, the WHO and CDC. Right now it is subtle but it is still in the peripheral nevertheless. They were just saying on the news yesterday that they are treating a man in Atlanta.

The thing is, they could round us up against our will if they say there is an epidemic--that's what is truly horrifying that I don't think people are thinking about.

I think about it all the time...

My wife and I drive a truck. Coincidentally, we are just outside Atlanta right now. Heh... I keep thinking about that zombie show "The Walking Dead" and how it is filmed here in Georgia.

Infowars complaining about fear mongering? Are they worried that the MSM is muscling in on their turf?

US to Evacuate at Least 1 American Ebola Victim from West Africa

An American aid worker who became sick with the Ebola virus in West Africa is returning to the United States within the next several days.

Hospital officials at Emory University confirmed the patient would be treated in a special isolation unit there, but declined to identify the person.

The university hospital in Atlanta, Georgia has one of only four such facilities in the United States, and has worked with the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention, or CDC, to set up the special unit.

Earlier Thursday, White House press secretary Josh Earnest said the State Department was working with the CDC to facilitate options to bring home infected U.S. aid workers.

The State Department said if an evacuation is undertaken every precaution will be observed and the individuals will be isolated both in route and once back in the U.S.

Both victims are in critical condition in Monrovia, the Liberian capitol.

The United States has issued travel warnings for Guinea, Sierra Leone and Liberia, the three countries hardest hit by the ongoing Ebola outbreak.

The overall death toll from the Ebola outbreak has climbed to 729, including more than 50 new fatalities reported since last Friday.

Even in that article, the difference is the mortality rate.

By the way, they DO make a big deal about the seasonal flu, to try to get people to get flu shots.
Genuine, willful, aggressive ignorance is the one sure way to tick me off. I wish I could say you were trolling. I know better, and it's just sad.

When talking about bodily fluid transmission, this also covers things as simple as an infected person sneezing in their hand during the incubation period and grabbing a shopping cart at the grocery store. You just better hope you're not the next person to use that cart! I shall be stocking up on hand sanitizer and hibiclens soon. If it keeps up, then it's latex gloves and N95 masks. After that will be tyvek suits from home depot. Overall a small price to pay for some extra level of protection in case this goes hot.

Have some vitamin D and live forever. Never get sick. It will protect you from Ebola.
