Progressives urge Elizabeth Warren to run for president in 2016

I put this here because Edub, in my opinion, poses a greater threat to Rand than Hillary in 2016. I think it would be wise of Rand to make friends, rub shoulders, study her arguments, and exchange notes senator-to-senator with Elizabeth before he meets her on the presidential debate floor. Make no mistake... Edub is a hot can of progressive whoop ass. Warren is to the Democratic party what Rand is to the Republican party; she's the new heartbeat. On the other side, Hillary is a lot like the "Jeb Bush" of Democratic candidates; she's losing appeal as her party transcends its old ways.

Sen. Elizabeth Warren, D-Mass., delivered a fiery call-to-arms at the Netroots Nation conference in Detroit on Friday, urging the liberal activists in the audience to fight back against the rich and powerful special interests that hold court in Washington.

But before Warren could get a word in, she was forced to shush the audience after attendees broke into a chant urging her to run for president in 2016.

    "Run, Liz, run,"

the crowd shouted in unison, according to the New York Times.

Warren is the voice behind Obama's "you didn't build that" and makes a much clearer argument than he ever did:

She has an active grassroots spurring her along:

I wish we could have 2 candidates like Goldwater and Kennedy who said that the one who did not win would be the others VP. JFK and AUH2O were very fond of debating each other and had the greatest respect for one another. They looked forward to running against each other and I think they had the highest of hopes and the best of intent for America.

I really cannot see the American electorate making this woman President. She barely got away with that fake Indian stuff in a democratic year in Massachusetts. Good luck with a national audience.

  5. #4
This doesn't need to be here. She is not a threat, she is an empty suit who espouses populist bull$#@!.

If you think we are going to elect another Harvard educated 2 year Senator with no accomplishments, I'd say you have a pretty poor understanding of our political situation. She would be destroyed for some of the things she's said and advocates.

That's really a moot point and essentially an unprovable situation, here's the boston globe article that took it into depth.

I can see her drawing more enthusiasm than Hillary.
Hillary will lose popularity the more and more she speaks. In my view she is at her highest peak and will fall quite a bit before election day if she is on the ballot.

However my first impression of Warren is that she would be a weak candidate.

Warren has no more chance of winning in 2016 than McCain did in 2008. Not gonna happen.

People will vote for who ever the controlled media says has the best chance. Look at the bozos we've gotten over the past 20 years. No one thought Insane McCain had a chance-- until we were told he was the best one to beat a democrat. Obama (a nobody in 2004) read platitudes someone else wrote for him very well and 4 years later... Romney was never given a second glance 'til the last minute. Hell, look at GW and Clinton. Looking back, how did those 2 goofballs ever have a chance?

We really have no idea who will get the nod.

When she was interviewed recently by Chris Matthews I was actually surprised how uninformed she was. Rand would destroy her in a debate.

The Dems desperately need a not-Hillary-but-also-a-woman.

They hate inevitable candidates as much as the GOP loves them. Obama only got in because he was an upset to Hillary.

I am still wondering how Warren was able to confirm that she was the first individual to breast feed while sitting for the New Jersey bar exam....

lol that is a pretty epic claim to back up

Simply ask Elizabeth Warren why she has no idea where the TARP money went even though it was her specific job to track as TARP Administrator and report back to Congress. "Oops, don't know where it went! Sorry. But you can trust me now. Pinkie swear."
"Let it not be said that we did nothing."-Ron Paul

"We have set them on the hobby-horse of an idea about the absorption of individuality by the symbolic unit of COLLECTIVISM. They have never yet and they never will have the sense to reflect that this hobby-horse is a manifest violation of the most important law of nature, which has established from the very creation of the world one unit unlike another and precisely for the purpose of instituting individuality."- A Quote From Some Old Book

Easy, she wasn't put in charge of the TARP funds, I think she was just one of the people who were supposed to be watchdogs for the funds. The better question is why she as a liberal, progressive, advocate for the middle class thinks bailing out rich wall street bankers is a better way of saving the economy than bailing out the little people? Isn't that the sort of trickle down economics liberal claim to hate so much? The lady is a fraud, she was an establishment republican up into her 40s before she realized she can make political gains by swindling the low info voters on the democratic side.

WHich is why we should support her 100% right up until the Democrat convention is over.

An American Indian (hahaha) who is a woman, she would be guaranteed victory. Millions would vote for her just for those two reasons.
Too bad our elected officials are not as aggressively trying to reduce the federal deficit as they are trying to strip us of our constitutional rights.

It would be a dream for her to be the nominee.

After the Obama debacle I wouldn't put anything past the Amerikan population. Her as nominee only validates her positions. Something we should all be against.

I believe she will run, as she is being prodded by Obama to do so. It is no secret Obama hates the Clintons and vice versa. Obama believes Clinton will reverse some of the scams (uh, I mean laws) he has enacted while in office. Elizabeth Warren is far more progressive than Hillary.

This is going to be one heck of a fight. The progressives want Warren, the centrists want Clinton and you will have two Presidents Obama/Clinton in a head to head match for political capital and power.

    Going to be very interesting.

  24. #21
    I hope she runs.

She'd lose, but she'd probably attack Hillary on foreign policy, domestic spying, and corporate welfare - which softens her up for Rand.

  25. #22
I think she beats Hillary if she runs, at which point she becomes the new Mondale to Rand's Reagan. It's an ideal scenario for us.

It may simply be that the Obama camp is under no illusions as to how ruthless and brutal Clinton is, and simply will not permit such a person to have access to the kind of info the next President will have access to about them.

Ron Paul Calls Elizabeth Warren a “Socialist”:

Dukakis, Kerry, Romney, Warren....Massachusetts politicians are losers.

Actually I agree with you. I visit certain progressive sites from time to time, and they love Elizabeth Warren and hoping someone will come forward to take the prize from Hillary. They are not crazy about Hillary at all.

Good point. I do know Obama is working hard to coerce Warren into running. And he always has some ulterior motive for his actions.

A blonde Indian. And not an albino.

At least Obama has enough African blood in him to look the part.

So, if she gets it, we need to have some unofficial campaign slogans ready for her. Like, Elizabeth Warren: Because Gentlemen Prefer Swedish Indians, or Elizabeth Warren: Because You Really Want to Give More of Your Money to the Richest Bankers on Earth.

    She has high cheekbones.

She can win, many here don't want to believe it, but she spouts the same socialist crap Obama does. I have zero faith in the electorate, most of them want free goodies and she is the one to give it to them.

Elizabeth Warren is a female version of Bernie Sanders. Both phonies when the chips are down.
