Default This could be very good news for Ron Paul in Michigan

It looks the democrats stripped Michigan of all delegates for scheduling an early primary:

I think that this could be very good news for Ron Paul in Michigan. The democrats have nowhere in which to voice there opposition to the war since this essentially means that their vote counts for nothing (and most of the candidates are not even on the ballot). Ergo, they should vote for Ron Paul---after all, he would get the troops out sooner than any Democrat anyways. Also note that Michigan is an Open Primary, so we can covert Democrats up to the very end.

If Ron Paul wins Michigan, it could go a long way to creating momentum especially since it is such an early primary.

Only extremely educated Democrat voters would consider this as a factor, unless it makes the news widely, and the news widely explains what that means.

i know a lady who is very liberal--kucinich supporter--and she is voting for ron paul because of this. i bet i could get my grandparents to do the same. they are bill richardson supporters. i'm sure with the news of this primary ron paul is the only republican they could stomach.

I thought about this earlier today.

If it is not too late for party change (or if it is necessary, very busy now, I can't look it up) then we need to score a list of Dem voters in the state. I hate to say this, but Kucinich supporters would be worth approaching for the "absolute" anti-war vote.

I agree, but this is why Ron Paul supporters should bring this to the attention of democrats. I, personally, have converted some die hard lifelong democrats by discussing Ron Paul's stand on foreign policy.

Fortunately, Michigan is an open primary Kucinich supports would be the best, but a lot of democrats think that the frontrunners are anti-war. We need only point out that they are not, and that Ron Paul is---his record proves this.

It is an open primary; no one needs to switch registrations.

I'm in Michigan and there is not a day goes by, but what I introduce someone to Ron Paul. It is usually positive, but we have a long way to go. many have never heard of him. And most know nothing of the primary fast approching. We need to see more signs and bumper stickers pronto!

Believe it or not, I was speaking to the head of the Hillary campaign at the University of Michigan yesterday and she said that she would be voting for Ron Paul because of this! I question her sincerity and I'm kicking myself for not having my voice recorder running while we spoke, but it's quite interesting nonetheless. Then again if there are many "true" liberals still out there, Ron Paul may be the most agreeable Republican candidate to them.
