    NC GOP Convention this weekend

Rolling out to Cherokee NC and Hara's Casino shortly. Liberty has taken over the cabins across from the convention site. Not much on the agenda this year, but we'll keep pressing.

Or if, during periods of mass arrests, as for example in Leningrad, when they arrested a quarter of the entire city, people had not simply sat there in their lairs, paling with terror at every bang of the downstairs door and at every step on the staircase, but had understood they had nothing left to lose and had boldly set up in the downstairs hall an ambush of half a dozen people with axes, hammers, pokers, or whatever else was at hand?... The Organs would very quickly have suffered a shortage of officers and transport and, notwithstanding all of Stalin's thirst, the cursed machine would have ground to a halt! If...if...We didn't love freedom enough. And even more – we had no awareness of the real situation.... We purely and simply deserved everything that happened afterward.” ― Aleksandr Solzhenitsyn

I've been to Cherokee. Funny seeing all the Indians dressed like the rest of us, lol.

The main agenda for the establishment will be removing any and all planks from the NCGOP platform that might embarass Thom Tillis. This includes planks added by Liberty activists over the past few years which support legalizing Certified Professional Midwives, oppose toll roads, and oppose amnesty.

Indiana's convention is this weekend too.

Only thing that will be rowdy will be the treasurer nomination.

We have up for nomination a crooked crony capitalist (supported by the establishment of course), a holy roller tea party preacher who will stand trial in August for stealing from his former church, and a lady who no one cares about that currently works in the treasurer's office.

In addition to--and this just may irk me a bit more as I'm from the area, and know people that work for the Casino--including a proposed plank that reads something like "We oppose gambling in all forms, including the lottery." To me, this just seems a bit disrespectful to the venue, and the Cherokee tribal community, that is hosting the event, as well as being a bit hypocritical--how many delegates are going to vote for this and walk down to the first floor and throw some dice? Even if this plank was included in the past, it doesn't seem appropriate to bring it up at this venue.

I'm hoping some liberty delegates will try and reintroduce the planks that support midwifery and the others, as has been the case in the past, but (this being typical) time constraints will probably limit what we will be able to do.

By the way, anyone else notice the proposed resolution to create a library of past resolutions?
