North Korea releases list of US 'human rights abuses'

    http://www.foxnews.com/world/2014/05...rights-abuses/

North Korea is pushing back against a United Nations report on its human rights violations with a report of its own -- one that lists "human rights abuses" in the U.S.

The official Korean Central News Agency on Wednesday released a news article titled "News Analysis on Poor Human Rights Records in U.S.," which discusses racial discrimination, unemployment and poverty, The Washington Post reported.

The article refers to the U.S. as "the world's worst human right abuser and tundra of a human being's rights to existence" and makes the following points:

"Under the citizenship act, racialism is getting more severe in the U.S. The gaps between the minorities and the whites are very wide in the exercise of such rights to work and elect."

"The U.S. true colors as a kingdom of racial discrimination was fully revealed by last year's case that the Florida Court gave a verdict of not guilty to a white policeman who shot to death an innocent black boy."

"That's why 52 percent of the Americans have said that racism still exists in the country while 46 percent contended that all sorts of discrimination would be everlasting."

"The U.S. is a living hell as elementary rights to existence are ruthlessly violated."
North Korea previously accused the U.S. of orchestrating the U.N. commission's February report that it committed crimes against humanity, calling the findings and recommendations "extremely dangerous" political provocations.

The U.N. Commission of Inquiry found evidence of an array of crimes, including "extermination," crimes against humanity against starving populations and a widespread campaign of abductions of individuals in South Korea and Japan.

The three-member panel recommended that the U.N. Security Council refer its findings to the International Criminal Court, which is unlikely to happen given likely opposition among permanent council members that have veto power to prevent the move.

    Original KCNA release:

The U.S. government has monitored every movement of its citizens and foreigners, with many cameras and tapping devices and even drones involved, under the pretext of "national security".
    ......

The U.S. also has 2.2 millions of prisoners at present, the highest number in the world. For lack of prisons on the part of the government, individuals are providing detention facilities to make money.
    .......

Its chief executive, Obama, indulges himself in luxury almost every day, squandering hundred millions of dollars on his foreign trip in disregard of his people's wretched life.

I am assuming that both lists, Tod and KC came from the same source. It is noteworthy for a reason...

Notice the specific violations that Fox hilighted in the body of the article here are all pretty much false, or so highly exaggerated as to appear completely false.

While the three cited by KC (apparently buried in the Fox link a lot more than the ones preciously listed) are actually completely true, and a legitimate problem.

So, NK publishes a report/list of US Human Rights violations (which is already ironic from the jump off, but well...) and Fox cherry-picks all the clearly false stuff to hilight in the story, but leaves the clearly true stuff buried. Whoodathunkit that Fox colored the newz with a personal agenda?

    this.... yikes
The ultimate minority is the individual. Protect the individual from Democracy and you will protect all groups of individuals
Rightful liberty is unobstructed action according to our will within limits drawn around us by the equal rights of others. I do not add 'within the limits of the law' because law is often but the tyrant's will, and always so when it violates the rights of the individual. - Thomas Jefferson
I must not fear. Fear is the mind-killer. Fear is the little-death that brings total obliteration. I will face my fear. I will permit it to pass over me and through me. And when it has gone past I will turn the inner eye to see its path. Where the fear has gone there will be nothing. Only I will remain.

What I quoted came from their release. (what CPUD posted)

    I highlighted the relevant parts.

Fox News quoted the bull$#@! about George Zimmerman.

In short, they left out quite a bit, sensationalized a couple things, got their facts wrong, and in general, sloppily wrote it. I find it amusing that North Korea taunts the United States with allegations of human rights abuses but to be honest, it's rather unimpressive work. It's like that North Korean propaganda film of bombs being launched. I find myself unable to take them seriously. This is the country with 'super EMPs' (yes, someone here actually believes that), nuclear tipped ICBMs and is so evil as to warrant being labeled, sanctioned and propagandized on the television sets about the alleged threat they pose to America? It's laughable.
