    California College Libertarians

The California College Libertarians, the LP's official student wing, will be attending this years YAL California state convention. We won't have a booth or anything like that, but we'll be walking around during the break out sessions and be at the socials for anyone interested in talking with us. We're always looking to get more people on board with us. We'll be the ones hanging out with Paul the Precocious Porcupine y Pablo el Puerco Espin (pictured below).

The California College Libertarians (Calc) are looking for writers to create original content for our website. We are most interested on issues affecting college students and Californians as a whole. You may contact us through our online form if interested. Those from the Bay Area, the Central Valley, and northern California are especially encouraged to apply. Why should you apply to write for Calc?

    1. Being a content creator for our website is a great way to help the movement if you are an introvert. If you have been involved with a libertarian group in the past you are likely to have been asked to help canvass, table, or mingle in order to get the message out. For introverts all of these activities illicit mild discomfort at minimum. Writing for our website allows introverts a way to get involved without having to interact with large groups of people.

    2. Being a content creator for our website can make you a stronger writer. If you had the displeasure of attending a state school you were probably not taught how to write. This is okay, you aren't at fault for the poor education standards of state schools. Writing in your free time will give you experience and improve your writing ability in the long run. Having a stronger writing ability will in turn help you out when you graduate from college and begin looking for a career.

    3. Being a content creator lets one warn today's youth about the nearing financial collapse and the need to invest their savings in bitcoin. As one might have noticed we do not yet have any articles regarding the superiority of bitcoin over state coinage. In fact the only reference to bitcoin is in on our donation page. We have several articles lined up about the upcoming June primary election, the expected shortfall in the highway fund, and even a short piece about Los Angeles' neighborhood council system but nothing on bitcoin. At this rate we will never cover bitcoin unless a newcomer does it.

    4. Being a content creator gives one a chance to get a few writing pieces published. Many job and college applications require writing samples from prospective applicants. You could spend several hours writing and rewriting writing samples or you could write a few articles for us and simply reuse them as needed.

    5. There is nothing good on television, you are bored, and you have nothing better to do so why not?

    6. You were kidnapped by men in black suits during your morning jog last Tuesday and have been detained in a small little room with nothing but a laptop. The laptop only has access to the California College Libertarian's website and so the only way to seek help is to post with the hope someone reads far enough into one of your articles so that you can tell them about your situation.

    7. You are an aspiring journalist and are trying to build an online presence. There was once a time when a writer simply wrote, but in today's market you are expected to contribute to several online medians outside your home newspaper and must even have an active 'twitter' account if you hope to stay relevant. One can debate whether journalism is better or worse for this but it is what it is. Writing for Calc gives you another venue to publicize yourself and build a following of readers.

    8. Being a content creator for Calc allows you to share valuable information that others don't know about the state of Californian politics. It is not rare for news stories to break out out an obscure blog long before it gets picked up by the major news companies.

    9. You wrote an article title and pitched it for Young Americans for Liberty and Students for Liberty but both rejected because you weren't an American or a student. Calc on the otherhand is willing to entertain article proposals from anyone so long as they love liberty.

    10. You feel compelled to become a content creator for the California College Libertarians due to some strange desire to help others. Is this what they altruism?
