NAZI Connecticut Cops Stealing Guns and Filing Charges.

This unconstitutional new gun control law in Connecticut appears to have taken its first victim. Now a 65-year old man faces felony charges for doing something completely legal and accepted 30 years ago in rural Connecticut. This making of law-abiding citizens into “retroactive criminals” must stop. We ask again, how much more of this with the American People tolerate? At what point will police officers who swear oaths to uphold and protect the Constitution stop enforcing obviously unconstitutional laws? Let’s hope this 65-year old newly minted accused felon gets adequate legal representation and that this case leads to repeal of this unconstitutional law.

    From The New Haven Register:
MILFORD >> A 65-year-old man faces an array of charges after shooting a squirrel in his yard Monday morning, police said in a press release.

James Toigo, 258 Housatonic Dr., was charged with unlawful discharge of a firearm, cruelty to an animal, first-degree reckless endangerment, second-degree breach of peace, failure to register an assault rifle and three counts of possessing large-capacity magazines, according to a police press release from Officer Jeffrey Nielsen.
Police officers were directing traffic in the area of Housatonic Drive when they heard a gunshot nearby, according to the release.
Upon investigation, Toigo was taken into custody after police said he shot the squirrel.
Police said they also found an unregistered assault rifle, as well as three large-capacity magazines, in Toigo’s home. Both the firearms and the magazines were taken, the release said.
Nielsen said the assault riffle was not the gun Toigo shot the squirrel with.
“As the investigation progressed the officers seized several firearms from the home for safe keeping,” Nielsen said. “That included the assault rifle and the three high capacity magazine he did not have registered.”
Nielsen said he believes the majority of the seized firearms were registered. Those weapons will remain in police custody until Toigo’s case is heard, Nielsen said. Depending on the outcome, Toigo will need to petition the police department to have his guns returned.
Toigo was released on a promise to appear May 13 in court.

Wonder why they are not saying anything about what he shot the squirrel with ? Could it be a pellet gun ?

It is about damned time for an American Spring.

    Remember Bundy Ranch!
"I know the urge to arm yourself, because that’s what I did. I was trained in firearms. When I walked to the hospital when my husband was sick, I carried a concealed weapon. I made the determination that if somebody was going to try to take me out I was going to take them with me."

    More:

Regarding the incident which led to Toigo’s guns being seized and his arrest for possessing an illegal/unregistered “assault weapon” and “large capacity mags” – there were two officers working construction almost directly in front of Toigo’s house. The squirrels had been digging up his yard on the side of his house near the front yard, which frustrated him and made him angry.

So Toigo decided to shoot a squirrel with his legally owned .22 rifle, shooting out through an open window from a position inside the home towards the street and where officers were standing for their construction job. The shot was close enough that it made the officers jump and they looked up to see the rifle pointed in their direction.

They detained and interviewed him, during which he admitted to shooting the squirrel. During the interview, he told officers that he owned several other firearms and had been shooting squirrels from inside the home on a regular basis, as evidenced by numerous bullet holes in the fence between his home and the neighbor’s. After his demonstration of poor judgement and his admission to owning other weapons, the officers then obtained a Risk Warrant, signed by a judge, on the basis of the unlawful discharge and his reckless use of the firearm.

During the execution of the warrant, the officers seized a total of 22 firearms, to include the three unregistered handgun large capacity magazines and an unregistered assault weapon (Smith & Wesson M&P-15). Throughout the entire investigation he remained overly cooperative, much to his detriment. He also admitted to officers that he had legally purchased the M&P-15 out of state before the new laws went into effect in April 2013, but had not registered the newly declared assault weapon or any of his three handgun large capacity magazines.

Never talk to cops. Don't volunteer information. Don't answer questions without your lawyer present to keep you from incriminating yourself. And know whats behind your taget before you squeeze the trigger.

Pretty stupid to be shooting your .22 at a squirrel when a cop or anyone for that matter is close to it.

Well you know how they are, in their (cops) direction would have been out the window and not in. I'm sure they will try to make an example of this one to set precedent. With the amount of firepower he had I am sure he is not an absolute idiot as to what guns do, but there again it didn't seem to have a clue as to how to deal with the police. He is definitely first up to be made an example of with the new unconstitutional gun laws and it will scare many boobus into complaince.
