Dem super PAC hits Tillis for staffers’ affairs with lobbyists

The top super PAC for Senate Democrats is up with a new ad in North Carolina attacking Republican state House Speaker Thom Tillis, and it holds little back.

The Senate Majority PAC ad, which was shared early with The Washington Post, hits Tillis by highlighting two former staff members who were were engaged in inappropriate relationships with lobbyists, including one — his chief of staff — who shared an apartment with Tillis.

Tillis has said he wasn't aware of his chief of staff's affair, despite the two of them living together. The affairs were revealed in 2012, and Tillis was criticized for giving the staffers severance pay when they were forced to resign.

    The ad buy is $973,000.

Heck, the more heat it puts on him and the better it makes Brannon look, great.

Is it possible that the real "establishment" candidate will end up being Harris? His campaign is full of NCGOP staffers and he'll pull the hard core evangelical crowd to the polls.

Because it's looking more and more like Tillis is a major flop as a candidate. He's afraid to appear at numerous forums and debates all over the state, has very little grassroots support, has caused his backers (lobbyists, Karl Rove, etc) to burn through millions already in TV ads with his polling trend continuing to go negative, and he's the only Republican candidate who consistently loses to Hagan in the polls.
NC doesn't need ThomTillis as the Republican nominee for US Senate.

Do you think that might be related to the fact Hagan and the Democrats only attack Tillis, including with dishonest adds to suggest he isn't conservative enough, like the Obamacare one?

They're trying to Akinize this race.
