It took more than two months, but the White House has finally found a new deputy national security adviser. And in the end, the administration didn’t have to look very far.

President Bush will appoint Ambassador James Jeffrey, a high-level State Department official who coordinates its Iran policy, according to people familiar with the matter. Jeffrey’s appointment will be made later today, these people said.
    ...
A colleague of Jeffrey’s said that the White House would likely prove to be a better fit than the State Department had been. The colleague noted that Jeffrey is a staunch neoconservative, which left him often sharply at odds with other high-level State Department officials. Most of the neocons who once populated the administration left their posts in recent years as the Iraq war went off the skids. At the White House, though, Jeffrey will be able to work closely with two of the other surviving neocons: Deputy National Security Adviser Elliot Abrams and David Wurmser, one of Vice President Dick Cheney‘s top foreign policy staffers.

HARD military decisions are those that go with the desire of some against the welfare of the people of America. Is that what you mean?

Interesting that he is using the same talking points that McCain was using today. It can't be that the neoconservatives are coordinating their propaganda. That would be a crazy conspiracy theory.

It was interesting to see how both the Left and Right sides of the media became pro-war when a true peace candidate emerged.

NATO member states in Eastern Europe are asking the same question many in the Middle East have: Can we rely on Washington to make hard military decisions?
Yes we can make the hard military decisions. And the answer is "no."

    Oh, heavens, no!

My suggestion is that the entire CFR be sent to "quell the Ukraine crisis"; they can tell us how it went.

Yep, always consider the source. Drastic times, require drastic measures... Half the Ukrainians don't want any of the enslavement policies of NATO-US-Western pillagers. I bought up first hand knowledge and posted on this forum of the huge Ukrainian military defections in the Crimea to the Russian military. Yes, the Russians offered and of course the benefits were better. The same is happening in Eastern Ukraine today... of course you'll hear the opposite on US/Western corporate-Fascist media, so do your research and verify the sources. I wonder how Kerry-Piatt-Nuland-Lew and the cabal feel on ANOTHER FAILED covert operation.

I'm about sick and tired of neo-Trots red and blue being front and center of every major news organization in the country. Day after day, it's a steady parade of wrong, and it's especially horrible on Sunday mornings. It gives their destructive and utterly failed ideology the appearance of credibility and support. Shame on Bezos for continuing to give those losers ink.
Based on the idea of natural rights, government secures those rights to the individual by strictly negative intervention, making justice costless and easy of access; and beyond that it does not go. The State, on the other hand, both in its genesis and by its primary intention, is purely anti-social. It is not based on the idea of natural rights, but on the idea that the individual has no rights except those that the State may provisionally grant him. It has always made justice costly and difficult of access, and has invariably held itself above justice and common morality whenever it could advantage itself by so doing.

Sending US troops is the worst thing to do. It will start, at the very least, an indirect hot war with Russia. Flows of natural gas from Russia to Europe will stop. Ukraine's largest trading partner is Russia and all Russo-Ukranian trade will stop as well. The county which we would supposedly be helping will be reduced to a poor disheveled beggar.

If there is a valid reason to not legalize pot, writing editorials under the influence would be one.
Out of every one hundred men they send us, ten should not even be here. Eighty will do nothing but serve as targets for the enemy. Nine are real fighters, and we are lucky to have them, upon them depends our success in battle. But one, ah the one, he is a real warrior, and he will bring the others back from battle alive.

Sending US soldiers to quell a revolt by Russian citizens against what they see as USA puppets on the border with Russia is a really smart decision,if you are mentally handicapped although I am pretty certain that even a mentally handicapped person would not even think of a such a bad idea.

And even if they are sent what more will they be than a blood sacrifice.Do this people honestly think that a few hundred soldiers could make any kind of difference ON the BORDER with Russia. All they will do is become martyrs for some politicians cause and nothing else. And the fact that Russia is the route trough which a certain army has to retreated trough or it could be faced with retreating trough enemy held territory whose fighters can be easily supplied with weapons totally escapes most of this morons.

This is not COD or some Tom Clancy novel, people will die, regions will be burned to the ground and 99% of this military porn and propagating how "we have to act now because Poland and Estonia are next" done by second rate history buffs who have read a few quotes here and there is simply astonishing. Some people have not experienced war on their backs for generations that it has become an adrenalin sport for them.

While America slept, the neo-Marxists/Leninists/Trotskyites took over the media, the education system, and finally, the majority of both political parties.

First it was "we are all Keynesians now", then it was "we are all Progressives now" and when the truth finally comes out, they will trumpet that "we are all (neo)Marxists now".

Krauthamer was spouting pretty much the same nonsense today, also. So yes, it looks like the neocons have their story together and are pushing pretty much the same line.

Would NATO members buy this? I'm skeptical. Would Poland allow the US to deploy troops on its border to "deter" Russia when it could escalate into WW III? Does Putin have territorial ambitions in Eastern Europe? Doubtful. Do the Eastern Europeans think he does? Also doubtful. Are the Europeans aware that the US was out to scuttle their attempted diplomatic settlement of the Ukrainian problem? Of course they do, thanks to Victoria Nuland. I suspect that our NATO allies would veto this crazy scheme. Hopefully, the Obama administration has as much sense as they do.
