A 13-year-old boy in Vernon, New Jersey was suspended from school last week after being accused of holding his pencil like a gun.

Ethan Chaplin, a seventh-grade student at Glen Meadow Middle School, was twirling his pencil in math class when a fellow student suddenly yelled out, “He’s making gun motions, send him to juvie!”

Ethan was immediately taken to the principal’s office, suspended, and told he would not be able to return to school until he passed a psychological evaluation.

Did little indoctrinated Johnny Boobus get a pat on the head and a gold star?

told he would not be able to return to school until he passed a psychological evaluation.

    Do they promise?

Seems pretty cut-and-dry to me. Most 7th graders should be able to handle remedial community college classes, so if he didn't screw around, he could potentially have a bachelors' degree by the time his buddies get out of the concentration camp.
There are no crimes against people.
There are only crimes against the state.
And the state will never, ever choose to hold accountable its agents, because a thing can not commit a crime against itself.

This is so GD crazy. Why is the America so Fed up? It's almost like it is child abuse to just live in New Jersey. The kid had to go through a 5 hour evaluation because he used a pencil? Surely the school district will be sued for child abuse. Hopefully it is bankrupted.

Suing a government entity in government courts, even if successful, has no effect on the governments employees.

I bet the kid's family had to cough up the expenses for the mandated exam.

Everybody knows you should only do that with a pen. Those pencils have lead (graphite) in them, that can be mistaken for bullets.

I wonder what's going to happen if and when we actually need those young folks in the military and they are afraid to even mention anything related to firearms.

Woah buddy New Hampshire is up here too. And even Vermont too. Historically, Northern New England has had the best gun laws in the nation. I know they aren't amazing in Maine any more, but they are still way above average.

Not crazy at all, when you consider what the "big picture" is.

    Now that, that is crazy.

And the people will beg for it.

    Robots.

Men are pretty much superfluous nowadays.

Certainly the docile, well broken and programmed sort that the system's indoctrination mills produce are.

Men and women will both be so in another 100 years or so.

Kids shouldn't have access to sharp, pointy objects. Not really needed today with Computers / iPads, etc.

NJ threatens to take away son after pencil-twirling incident

VERNON, N.J. (PIX11) – A 13-year-old boy was the most famous kid in school for a few weeks.

A simple pencil-twirling incident landed Ethan Chaplin in hot water with his school, which threatened to suspend him after a classmate claimed he was spinning the writing utensil like a gun.

After media attention from PIX11 and around the world, school officials backed off — but child protection agencies did not.
