- You are invited to attend the U.S. Senate debate with the major Republican candidates at 7 p.m. April 22 . The debate -- sponsored by Time Warner Cable News, The Charlotte Observer and The News and Observer of Raleigh -- will be held in the Duke Family Performance Hall on the campus of Davidson College . It is free of charge, but registration is required.
Declared Republican candidates Greg Brannon, Heather Grant, Mark Harris and Thom Tillis have agreed to participate based on debate criteria set by Time Warner Cable News North Carolina.
Capital Tonight anchor Tim Boyum will moderate the hour-long debate prior to the May 6 primary. A three-journalist panel will ask the candidates questions: Charlotte Observer Editorial Page Editor Taylor Batten, N&O Government Reporter Lynn Bonner and Time Warner Cable News Senior Political Reporter Loretta Boniti.
Time Warner Cable News North Carolina will air the debate live on Channels 14 and 200, in addition to streaming it live on TWCNews.com and via the TWC News app. It will also be live streamed on charlotteobserver.com and newsobserver.com .
The free event begins at 7 p.m. at Davidson’s Duke Family Performance Hall, located on the lower level of the Knobloch Campus Center, 207Faculty Drive.
Doors will open at 6 p.m., and a dessert reception will follow the debate. Registration is encouraged. Audience questions will be taken prior to the forum, using the registration form below.
