Glenn Beck and Kevin Williamson Discuss How Rand Paul is at a Disadvantage For Being Genuine

In summation, Williamson states that the American people are addicted to the personal benefits that the government bestows upon them. Hence, Paul is at a disadvantage since he actually is earnest in wanting to shrink and cut government. Williamson also thinks Cruz will be at a disadvantage as well for being a fiscal hawk, but not to the same degree as Paul.

Romney got skewered for it, but his 47% comment was exactly right. America is rapidly approaching the point in which a majority of its population is directly dependent on government, and then it's game over. A person who does not pay any taxes has no motivation to vote against a tax hike on others that pays for their benefits.

Is Beck turning into Colonel Sanders?

If the people that are dependent come to the conclusion that it is an evaporating shell game, they may abandon it for the private sector and a set of rules that enhances their opportunity there.

44% pay no federal taxes; that does not mean they are paying no taxes, but that they net out on federal income tax at 0. They are still paying payroll, social security, capital gains, gasoline, Medicare, etc. The number of pure takers is somewhere between 2.5 to 5%. The number of net "takers" is at it's highest around 10%.

So your analysis is pretty badly off.

Wait until the MSM starts their avalanche. We're going to need him. All the alternative media must push back against the smear campaign. That includes Jones, Church and whomever.

Kevin Williamson is the guy who keeps writing the (subtle) hit pieces on Ron and Rand for the neocon rag National Review.
