Just seems like danger-close to me, and I'm about as non risk averse as they come.

You could easily hit the boat and knock yourself senseless, hit by the outdrive or prop and get cleaved, get gutted by a cleat or vent...
It is called a barefoot boom. It is designed to teach barefoot waterskiing and to help perfect barefoot tricks and technique. No fear of hitting the boat because you have a responsible driver going close to 40 mph in a straight line. If person falls boat keeps going. Because of the speed and precarious ways you hit the water, you can take some massive wipeouts that can injure you. Most people wear specific barefoot wetsuits that have special extra padding and keep you afloat with head out of the water. It is dangerous even stupid to not be wearing flotation device.

I found this to support the 26,000 KIA for the 8th

The kicker is that if you look at the Wiki link the Air Force KIAs represent 2.5% Casualty Rate and the Marine number is 3.6% Casualty Rate.

The Air Force lost a lot of people
Total AAF casualties in the ETO were 62,021 when wounded and POWs are included.

Fixed fortifications in war. Yes. But we're dealing with illiterate refugees, who in most cases who couldn't assemble a stroller. A wall of those dimensions is more than an adequate deterrent.

    LOL

Because you've been down in Tijuana giving random samples of them the Unassembled Stroller Test.

Gun Towers are common on Prison Walls.
Liberty is lost through complacency and a subservient mindset. When we accept or even welcome automobile checkpoints, random searches, mandatory identification cards, and paramilitary police in our streets, we have lost a vital part of our American heritage. America was born of protest, revolution, and mistrust of government. Subservient societies neither maintain nor deserve freedom for long.

Not nearly as concerning as those that came legally with a "Paperclip".
